"Now before we get to the fun part, you have only a little more to learn. Specifically with keeping a handle on them easier.." Looking towards Professor Fuller. It was his turn now again. Quote:

Piers GLARED at Javy for a SOLID five seconds before returning to his deadpan stare across the lake. He was so going to punch that guy when this lesson was over. The students were LAUGHING at him and his dumb nickname. It was one thing to have Cassie call him that. Javy? That was a different story.
SIGH.
He let Javy do his teaching about winged horses, keeping his own gloved hands tucked in his coat pockets, but as he was watching their students share their answers and ask their questions he noticed one quiet Gryffindor who was doing something else... Eating every flavor beans.
Without saying a word, Professor Fuller discreetly used his wand to summon the kid’s bag of beans. The bag plopped right into his hand and he CASUALLY started eating them. Ooh, grapefruit. Yummy.
At this question, Piers assumed Javy would want him to answer it. Either way, he was going to. ”Of course,” he started. ”If you’re in a muggle-populated area, you’d want to keep all of your magical items and tendencies hidden, wouldn’t you? The easiest solution would be to live in a wizarding community that already has the protective enchantments so muggles can’t come across your winged horse, but there are ways to keep them hidden if you don’t.” Some they should know already from previous charms and DADA classes.
Once he clarified that, he waited for all the students to answer and for Javy to finish his instruction on the winged horses.
It was his turn to go again, so Piers grabbed the chalk and started to head towards the board. ”As we discussed, most of you already know this spell’s incantation, so it should be quite easy for most of you older students, and some of you younger ones as well. But we’ll all review, just to make sure we do it right.”
Fuller turned to board and wrote down what they needed to know: FIXATE (FIX - ATE) ”Fixate,” he said out loud, for all the students to hear. ”A very simple charm to pronounce. Two syllables, and it was pronounced just like it read. ”The wand movement can be tricky, but not so long as you know what you’re doing. What you will be doing is using the Placement Charm to fit the bridle onto your winged horse. We will have a chance to practice the wand movement in a few minutes, but right now I just want you all to practice the incantation. Say it out loud a couple times and get used to it.” OOC: Spend the next 16-18 hours practicing the incantation. Just one post is needed. Then we’ll move on to activity!
The fun part. Leah assumed that would be riding the flying horses, or the Thestrals. Imagine riding an invisible creature! A really Gryffindor thing to do. She was glad to know how the placement charm and winged horses were related. Fitting the bridle on.
The incantation was EASY. Thinking about the super-long spell during Transfiguration, Leah grinned. "FIXate. Fixate. Fixate." Cool-cool. Now for the wand movement... hopefully it was not going to be really difficult. |
