Quickly, very quickly, she leaned toward him and kissed his cheek, "Thank you, boyfriend." It'll be fine. However, what did that mean, exactly? Was he going to take her to Airey's office and won't leave until she talked things out with the Professor? Hopefully not. Lotus nodded, eyeing him curiously. No, he wouldn't dare, she'll go after the holidays.
Yes! This is Astronomy! Some fangirling was bound to happen, eventually. Fair question. "After midnight," answered the sixth year. Much like Orion in late August, which they got to see before midnight in October. As quickly as she had fangirled, she sighed. What? The stars stay where, Tag? "We're in constant motion." Did she have to explain the heliocentric model? He already knew this. "The entire universe is." Tag should've been in Airey's last class, though. "But the Earth's translation around the sun, the rotation around its own axis and the slight inclination of that axis, make it possible for all the stars to be seen throughout the year from different places." Was that too much? Maybe they should stop or could they go on? She won't make anymore explanations, promise.
What did the seasons have to do with the stars? Leaving aside the Earth's movements... nothing.
Oh. Well, but he did know, because they've talked about it. Haven't they? The first time they stargazed? Was that too long ago? Okay, she could explain, "You know how stars appear to twinkle?" She hated making that description, but it's the easiest one ever. "Planets do not." Simple, really. "Do you see anything that seems fixed? Not twinkling?" Her eyes were on him instead of the sky, she knew where the planets were. Now, could Tag spot one without help?
"
You're welcome. I'll be here for you." He said with a smile. She knew this, but it felt right to say, anyway. Tag would not physically drag Lottie to Airey's office, just simply nag her about meeting up with him and have this so called conversation. But he'd definitely walk her there, just to be sure she actually would walk into his office. Why was she looking at him like that? "
What?"
After midnight. Ok. Gosh, Lottie just knew every answer to every question mini!blondie had over here. "
Do you wanna see it one night?" Libra that is. Just a fair question, it was her zodiac. Ok, but no, don't mention the heliocentric model. That'd only bring laughter, embarrassment, disappointment to a teacher and Tag sinking into a tapestry. Never mention that ever again. Anyway, Lottie was now answering Tag's 'season' question. He nodded at her words, definitely not interrupting her at all, because that'd only cause more confusion in him. After she was done Tag took a few moments to repeat what she'd had told him, and then think it through. Yes, admire your boyfriend while he figures this out, Lotus. "
I suppose that makes sense." Tag said after a while, perhaps, after thinking it through 3-4 times. And, Lottie had given it to him in its most basic form.
Perhaps Tag had forgotten about it, ok? He only remembers stars. And, he even accidentally pointed to a planet that one time. Cut him some slack, thank you very much. "
Planets don't twinkle, ok." He got that down so he gave her a thumbs up. Once again the boy checked the ceiling for anything that wasn't twinkling and fixed. "
There?" Tag said unsurely as he pointed his finger at Draco and went somewhat,
somewhat, left of it. A very bad 'left'.
