Alright, she could keep an open mind. This wasn't detention. Whatever he asked wouldn't be...that bad...Lex's brows crinkled as she watched the Professor. Was he looking for something? The Gryffindor's expression changed to reflect the her current wonder at his staring but then given where he was staring, it finally hit her and she scowled deeply. "You won't find it Professor. It's locked away in my trunk back in my dorm." So quit looking. Boring a hole through her chest with his eyes wouldn't magically make it appear any time soon. Was that clear? Good, she could continue listening now.
He wanted her to read the rules again? Eh.......no. No she'd pass on that one thanks. They were disappointing enough the first time. "I make no promises about that Sir but I must ask what you suggest as it concerns being sly." She straightened once again. "Did you see me jinx him? I'd have gotten away with it if I hadn't tried that responsibility thing Professors are always going on about." Her limited conscience would have allowed her to walk out of the room without a second glance at Kevin but the badge on her robe would not. Consequently it would spend the rest of the year in her trunk. "I wouldn't count out my gut either. It's the reason Kevin doesn't have to see the Healer." See. Her wand and her will wanted nothing more than to send a couple stinging hexes at him, have him leave with some singes to remember her by but her gut said otherwise so Langlock it was. Sometimes she thought her gut was weak. Oh.
Cosgrach wisely chose not to comment on it. He could only hope he wasn't the cause. He... wasn't, right? She was angry at someone else?
Yeeeah... "Exactly," he said, eyes on hers. They would stay there until she walked out. No more searching for her badge. "You shouldn't have told me you'd jinxed him, because that's not responsible. Responsible is when you lift the jinx outside." See? If she was planning to let him know, why jinx the boy silently in the first place? "But how Kevin is still alive, that's responsibility." He shrugged in the end, though. "At least that's how I perceive the terms." A Gryffindor mind was clearly different than his, though. "I'm sure you know the rules alright. Just... eh, never mind. You're free to go." So he appreciated her help, see? It was just plainly unrealistic of her to expect points when she attacked Kevin. Lang-lock or not, she'd still jinxed him, even if it had been for everyone's well-being. Quote:

….
…....
And ….
Well. That was a lot to take in.
With the cookie raised to her mouth, and only a small bite taken out of it, Seren sat and stared. Bouncing Bloomin' Blueberries. How was it possible that she went from having no complaints about her Lions to have this many? It must be one of the man's talents. Finding flaws in Lions, and exasperating them. “Hhhmmm... I see,” she replied eventually, abandoning the slightly nibbled on cookie and placing it on the edge of the plate.
The best thing she could take from this situation was that Lex had been helpful, but that much she could have gathered for herself, the girl was a prefect for a reason. But with all this talk of Kevin and Zahra and Ravenclaws? What? … “I'll have words with Zahra, and I'll likely notify her parents too so that they're aware of her behaviour and... academic progress...” or perhaps not progress, was it progressive? She could hardly tell, though melting a cauldron sounding more regressive than anything else. “As for Kevin, you're the only one I've heard complaints from... so perhaps we need to explore other avenues of behaviour management with him, because whatever you have tried with him clearly hasn't been working.” And if Kevin was angry to begin with, then perhaps a little TLC would have gone further than ignoring the underlying issue and provoking him with threats of a week long detention. “Have you considered discussing this with some of our peers? See how they manage him in their classes? Like I said to you last year, I haven't had any issues with Kevin myself, so there's not much I can do to support you if I haven't witnessed the behaviours for myself. Have you notified his parents?”
…
Food for thought. ...notify her parents... that wold be the Minister. HIS Minister. The man that could practically fire him. Cosgrach knew absolutely nothing about the man. What if he was a sour peach that would have his head because he complained about her daughter? No. He wasn't endangering his position he'd earned so hard. "Maybe we should keep the Min - her parents out of this for now," he said pleasantly, "and write to him only if Zahra doesn't cooperate." But Kevin? Cosgrach wanted to notify EVERYONE that KNEW him. "That's funny about Kevin, though," he said, "because Leo has complained about the kid to me as well." See, he HAD asked a colleague. Leo. "Kevin had been very rude to him as well." Thoug Leo sadly didn't teach, so who knew how Kevin would have acted then? "I doubt his parents will be of much help too. Do you remember the meeting at your office last term? He'd practically said they let him have his own way when he does that thing called 'kitty eyes' or something." Cosgrach made a face that clearly showed he didn't approve of such parents. "But I'll write to them if you think this will solve the problem." He didn't know the kid, after all. Seren knew him better - and will you look at that! - Kevin caused no troubles with her.
Oooooh, that kid was going to DIE tonight during detention with him. Quote:

Yes he could OWL his mother to send the Eel but the dead virus? That was going to be a problem. Good. GOOD. He was looking away. VERY GOOD. The plate was HIS and HIS only. The road to a man's heart passes from his stomach...
...Vaxifloo?
Cosgrach's hand froze midway to his mouth with a cookie and he frowned. "What do you want vaxifloo potion for?"
