Hold on a second! Her badge? Where was her badge? He gaped at her chest, completely forgot what he was going to say, and practically looked for that small thing for a moment. It wasn't there. She... could they even resign? She hadn't, had she? Not because of him? He frowned deeply and his face even whitened a little. N - no, no no. It wasn't him. She must have forgotten about it or something. Yeeeeah.
"Well, promise me you'll read the school rules again and... you'll probably hate me for saying this, but, try to think more slyly. I appreciate your guts, but it isn't always the correct move."
Well?
Lex seemed to be on a listening roll right this moment so instead of trying to find words, she continued on the silent listening track because there was something he needed her to do?
Alright, she could keep an open mind. This wasn't detention. Whatever he asked wouldn't be...that bad...Lex's brows crinkled as she watched the Professor. Was he looking for something? The Gryffindor's expression changed to reflect the her current wonder at his staring but then given
where he was staring, it finally hit her and she scowled deeply.
"You won't find it Professor. It's locked away in my trunk back in my dorm." So quit looking. Boring a hole through her chest with his eyes wouldn't magically make it appear any time soon. Was that clear? Good, she could continue listening now.
He wanted her to read the rules again? Eh.......no. No she'd pass on that one thanks. They were disappointing enough the first time.
"I make no promises about that Sir but I must ask what you suggest as it concerns being sly." She straightened once again.
"Did you see me jinx him? I'd have gotten away with it if I hadn't tried that responsibility thing Professors are always going on about." Her limited conscience would have allowed her to walk out of the room without a second glance at Kevin but the badge on her robe would not. Consequently it would spend the rest of the year in her trunk.
"I wouldn't count out my gut either. It's the reason Kevin doesn't have to see the Healer." See. Her wand and her will wanted nothing more than to send a couple stinging hexes at him, have him leave with some singes to remember her by but her gut said otherwise so Langlock it was. Sometimes she thought her gut was weak.
