But, she was here at his request, so whatever it was that he wanted to talk about obviously came first. It sounded... urgent. "Thank you," she replied, stepping over the threshold and into the office space. It was different to what she had been expecting, and the two things that struck her most was the blue of the walls and the handsome rug. No, that was a lie... the tea and cookies also captured her attention and she immediately gravitated to a seat beside them. "So what is it you wanted to talk to me about?" she asked, still smiling, though clearly concerned. And, was that Kevin's wand? Or was this one Zahra's? Oh, direct to the point. He liked that. It meant they could be done with this faster as he wished. He still had to meet with Alexa and Kevin after this. "During the class earlier today, Kevin was angry at something, I believe, so he accidentally broke a bottle of doxy venom," he said, "and I told him he'd help me clean the class after lesson and the lab for a week. I normally wouldn't mind it, but it's doxy venom, and he ought to be more careful. And I was half-joking? With the lab, I mean. Just to see whether he'd learnt some manners." He sighed dramatically. "Then he shouted at me, a few people told him to be more respectful, Zahra spoke to Kyroh - a sweet Ravenclaw first year - very rudely and threatened Ravenclaws?" Zahra, the Minister's Daughter-Zahra. Did she know? Oh, Merlin. "So I warned them that the next person to say something would be in detention. I also made it clear to Kevin that he only had to come for this evening, and I took 5 points off Zahra." The Minister's Daughter-Zahra. "Needless to say, Kevin shouted more, and with luck, I could keep calm. Realised giving him detention doesn't work, so I shrugged and warned him one last time. Then, with Alexa's help, he shut up." Thankfully. He liked that girl, he did. If only... "Zahra too. But she dumped all the ingredients into her cauldron at once, and started waving her wand randomly. The potion melted her cauldron. She is lucky she isn't hurt. Hence, I took her wand away." He indicated to the wand on the trolley. "Told her she can take it from you. I figured you should know about this since you're their head of house and all." He'd completely understand if she didn't want to be, though. Couldn't really blame her. This was the second time he was going to her about Kevin. Who knew how much of a trouble the kid was in total? Quote:

Well now it could decorate the inside of her trunk.
Lex noted the troubled look of the Professor but she couldn't figure why. It's not like he'd been the one called out for trying to do a good thing but she wouldn't question it, especially not now that he was going on and she figured this was the part where she listened. Always had one of those in detention. Her nose wrinkled subconsciously at the mention of the word Prefect. It shouldn't be possible to hate a word so much. It may have been a problem in general but he had to be honest. It wouldn't have been nearly as bad if someone without a badge had done it. Prefects were supposed to 'know better'. Still she nodded, indicating she was listening.
Time went still the moment he said it wasn't a real detention and the Gryffindor leaned forward in her seat, wondering if she was hearing right. She wasn't in trouble, and he'd tell her HoH she was....helping? She didn't actually know what to say. Nothing was coming to her so she just sat there staring. That was all the reaction he got out of the Gryffindor. A stare. ...staring?
Well, at least her focus had changed, so he took it as a positive sign, yeah? "What I want you to do is -"
Hold on a second! Her badge? Where was her badge? He gaped at her chest, completely forgot what he was going to say, and practically looked for that small thing for a moment. It wasn't there. She... could they even resign? She hadn't, had she? Not because of him? He frowned deeply and his face even whitened a little. N - no, no no. It wasn't him. She must have forgotten about it or something. Yeeeeah. "Well, promise me you'll read the school rules again and... you'll probably hate me for saying this, but, try to think more slyly. I appreciate your guts, but it isn't always the correct move."
