"I don't want to give you a detention," he started, "but I did say next person to be rude would get it." He puffed his cheeks. "Would you believe me if I said I actually like you and appreciate the way you are leading your house?"
Please say 'yes'.
Lex stood at the door until she'd been invited to sit, at which point she shut the door behind her and made her way across the room. Usually she'd have opted to stand but this was
detention. For all she knew this was a part of the punishment, like the seat charmed for discomfort that Hadley had forced her to use. Not letting herself think about it too much, she took a seat and turned her focus to him, a dull glow in her usually bright eyes.
There was a flicker, a small spark at his words. The Gryffindor had a brilliant memory and that wasn't how it'd gone. Lex bit her lip, deciding she could let him go on anyway but it wasn't long before the words came out regardless.
"You said the next one to make a rude comment. I cast a nonverbal spell and Kevin wasn't allowed to speak anymore. I was helping." But of course it didn't matter. No. Why would it? Arguing would have been a lost cause here. Not to mention
very disrespectful and
so unprefect-like. Merlin she'd heard enough of that damned word.
Lex leaned back in her seat
not daring to cross her arms, no, that would be
bad too.
Sooooo bad. Might give her a whole nother detention. Circe forbid
that happen. Her hazel eyes locked on his, hoping he'd move on but it looked like he was actually waiting on an answer. Ugh. Couldn't she just be punished and released.
"Did you want an honest answer Professor? Or one that will get us through this detention sooner?"
