Why was it so flipping cold already?

It was obviously getting closer to winter but she couldn't remember it being this cold at this time last year. Maybe she was just imagining things. Yeah...that had to be it. No other explanations because NO ONE was over-eating ice-cream so things were perfectly safe....in theory.
