Thankfully she had already got the cleaning out of the way. Moving right along she listened carefully as the Professor rattled off the steps- thank goodness he wrote it on the board as well. Right, three glasses- with a flick she filled each one up:"
Aguamenti!" She allowed herself a moment to be relieved that had even worked, it'd been far too long since she'd brushed up on her spells- add it to the list. She took another moment to scribble down the new notes...
Great. So, hippogriff feathers? First a unicorn horn, now these. She couldn't imagine these were particularly easy ingredients to get a hold of. I mean, how many unicorns were even out there anyway? Even if it was only half a horn each... And hippogriffs weren't exactly found by the dozen either. Oh well she could ponder the new Professors methods of procuring copious amounts of exotic materials later...
Right now she needed to start heating the cauldron:
"Incendio!". She made sure to keep it at what she could only pray was medium heat and counted down from 60 in her head. Satisfied she poured in the 3 cups of
pure water and then dropped the 10 feathers in one. by. one. At the very last minute she remembered to clean her wooden stirrer:
"Scourgify!" That was way too close- that should really be written on the board for those visual learns out there. Now it was just more counting-
1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10 and stir counterclockwise 1...2...3...4...5.....20 and stir clockwise
30 more seconds and another counterclockwise stir and ideally she should be right on track. Ideally. She took a second to glance around- no one had messed up beyond redemption
yet. So that was good.
