The Slytherin common room was in the dungeons? That made Kate glad she wasn't a Slytherin. Especially if the dungeons had flooded before. Floods made Kate very glad the Ravenclaw common room was in a tower, safe from flooding.

Oh. But the lady wanted to know why they were down here. Kate bit her lip. She didn't have a good reason, she was just wandering… That would probably seem suspicious, though…

Ooh! A map! Good answer, Hayden!

But that just meant Kate had to think of an equally convincing answer. Erm. Maybe she should just tell the truth. It would be much easier than making up a story. And if she made up a story and got called out on it, that would be waaaay more suspicious than the truth. Yup. Truth time. "I wasn't headed anywhere!" Kate volunteered. "I was just wandering… to, er, prevent getting lost in the future." Nothing like getting lost in the present to avoid being lost in the future.

She still wanted to know if she could have a brownie, though. Kate looked hopefully at the plate of food.
Penelope was lost. Really lost. How the Ravenclaw had ended up in the dungeons, she didn't know. Where was she? How exactly did she get here? The dark winding tunnel kind of freaked out the claustrophobic first year Ravenclaw. Penelope heard voices in the tunnel. Turning around the corner, she could see other people. There were some first years, an older student, and... the headmistress? "Hi, I'm Penelope. I'm a first year Ravenclaw, and I really don't know how I got here. I think I'm lost. Where am I?"

"Nice to meet you Hayden." No hard feelings for her not taking brownies. Not everyone liked them. She turned to the other younger girl. "Sure. Go right ahead and take one." Adelaide offered the plate to Kate.

And jeez. Another little lost first year. Were the dungeons really that hard to navigate? Was Addi just used to them by now?

Now, the dungeons. Bunz dusted off her hands. "You're in the dungeons, in a 'secret' passageway. Originally, this used to be an alternate path to the common room. It might have even led outside." She shrugged. "One of the old headmasters closed part of it off though, so now it's really just a detour to the Slytherin common room." Did that answer their questions? Goodness, she felt like she was back to teaching a class again.

A giant map of the school, though... that sounded familiar. "You're not planning on putting any spells on that map, are you?" She stared down the Huffie firstie with her sapphire blue eyes. HMMMMM?? The other little girl, and the other OTHER one, they got warmer smiles. "It's okay to wander," she assured her, "but you DO do so at your own risk in this castle." Amen to that.

She echoed Adelaide: "Have a brownie! They're very delicious." And Bunz was eyeing the plate again and wondering if she shouldn't have seconds. Hmmmm.

Hayden smiled at the girl, Adelaide, and then looked as another lost first year joined them. It was more and more proof that a map would be very useful; it would safe poor first years from getting lost. "Hi Penelope," she greeted. "My name is Hayden." Who said she couldn't make new friends while lost in a secret passage outside the Slytherin common room. She never thought she would, but that didn't mean she couldn't.

Hayden paled slightly at the question about spells. Did the headmistress think she was going to do something bad. "No," she said, shaking her head back and forth. "I don't even know any spells. I just want a map so I don't get lost. Or so other people don't get lost either." She gestured to Penelope, and was glad she had shown up just in time to be a perfect example.
