What time was it? Hayden knew it was after class, and it was before curfew but she didn't know the exact time. She didn't even know what time it had been when she first met Kate. She wasn't very good at things like keeping track of time. "I think it's getting late," she said casually, but it was also sort of a question. Was it getting late? Probably. Maybe Kate was a better timekeeper.
Getting late? Really? What time was it? Kate pushed up her left sleeve so she could see her watch that she wore but never really looked at. Oh. It was getting late. Especially because there was a curfew and Kate was likely to get lost on her way back to the common room (she had gotten lost every time she'd tried to find the common room on her own thus far). "It is kind of late. We should probably go."
After all, they didn't want to get in trouble so early in the school year. Kate led the way to the planetarium door so they could return to their respective common rooms.
