The flesh of humans would be tempting enough as it was, there was no need to add sugars and savouries to the mix. Moving back up to the front of the class, she clapped her gloved hands together and beamed.
"Now... as we enter, keep close and don't wander... also, I advise you not to go touchy feeling the plants unless directed to do so. Again, I'd hate for any of you to lose a limb unnecessarily." And with those instructions in mind, wand out, keys out, Seren went about unlocking the greenhouse, and stepping inside.
"Gather round here please," she instructed as she moved a little way inside the greenhouse. The fanged geraniums, throat-latching carnations, lilies and hibiscus's turned their floral heads and snapped their fangs in their direction by way of greeting. Such darlings, were they not?
Stopping in front of two bushes, both of them deciduous with their leaves reddened by the Fall. Both were approximately four meters tall and both boasted berries on their balding branches. If it weren't for the fact that one had dark berries and the other vibrant red with leaves that had a serrated edge, then it would have been difficult to tell them apart. By all account, from a distance, they could pass for the same bush.
"Can anyone hazard a guess what these two bushes might be? And how you might have come to that conclusion," she asked once the students were assembled.
OOC: Please only try to guess ONE of the bushes, so that peeps may have variety. No editing answers, hands up, please answer the question only, additional information is not required at this stage. The lesson will continue in approx 15 hours.
Witnessing his Herbology Professor draw out her wand, made Cutty to do the same as he followed the class. He was difficult to surprise, but nothing, NOTHING properly prepared him for what he was greeted with when they entered into the Greenhouse. Bright, stimulating colours and maws of be-toothed varieties gave him the impression of wonder and consequence. Even the driplets of recent waterings did not seem to him like they were water at all, but poison as might hang from the fang of a venomous snake.
They looked so similar, Cutty thought. Were they magical? Both dangerous? Bentley was asking questions, but Cutty had more of his own. Maybe, one was dangerous and the other not? Hadn't he read something about two magical breeds of plants that each resembled each other. But that wasn't an out of season venomous tentacula, was it? No. Bentley had said she would've liked to have kept her job.
He did find this interesting, but he wasn't going to venture a guess. There were more important things than earning housepoints. He knew exactly why he came to Herbology. His eyes darted toward the fanged hibiscus, it's crepe-like petal in contrast with his fanged mouth. From there he began to search for other dangers. Things that looked like they sleeping. Things that looked like they were big enough to swallow him whole.
