No one let this boy be a ghostwriter or else he'd detail someone's life as a freaking train wreck. The urge to stomp on his foot was big, BUT she had to keep her cool.
Breath, Wayne, breath.
Turning to professor Culloden, still with that wounded puppy expression written all over her face, Beverly said, "He's making stuff up." Her bottom lip quivered purposely. She was quiet and reserved, but that didn't make her a mean person! The only reason she'd spoken to the this guy at the Feast in the first place was to make friends.
See?! This is WHY she had trust issues.
Watching Derry return to her potion reminded Beverly that her and Jeremiah's were about ready, so she turned around and added the snake fang into their potions. They were NOT going to ruins because of Stupid Head. She turned back to Professor Culloden and waited for a response. Potions mood ruined. RUINED. Quote:

"This guy is lying through his teeth, and I'd be happy to take a truth serum to prove it." Because she'd literally do anything to prove herself right. Especially right now. She was only just holding it together to stop herself from punching the kid in the face. "And if you know anything about any of the three of us, sir, you know we wouldn't do that to someone." At least... she or Bev wouldn't. Derry didn't know Jeremiah too well. But she was willing to bet that if he was friends with Beverly then he wasn't the kind of guy to purposefully exclude someone else. "Slytherins usually stick together." THAT was a jab at this guy who thought he was better than all of them, clearly.
After a glance at her watch, she added something... "I need to add my snake fang, sir. I'll be back here in one second."
She quickly stepped back behind her desk, glanced into her cauldron and added the snake fang. There... now what?
Oh...
She should probably go back over there. Derry walked over to the professor again and waited for the verdict. Quote:

And he wasn't wasting any truth serum for someone like this boy. Nay, he drew his wand, pointed it at Beverly's hair to clean it, and turned to the boy. "Pick that snake fang up," he said threateningly calmly as he pointed at the fang by Beverly, "and wait for me outside, please. I haven't decided yet, and if you are correct, after all," he snorted - he clearly doubted that, "you will get your chance to finish the potion. I don't want to hear any whining. Now if you don't mind, I'll deal with responsible people." He eyed them all, and walked away to the blackboard. Apparently, the old man professor favoured this Beverly girl so, she could very well be the one winning this game yet that didn't mean Gareth would be done with her. First, he was just entertaining himself by putting that bloody fang in her hair and hoping to see her reaction to it, but now, this had turned into something much more serious. He glared at the girl as she performed her part of looking like a victim to the professor.
Then the ginger one with a big nose started to talk making it all more difficult. Slytherins stick together. Meh. She just looked like the kind who liked sticking together. Sarcasm...that was. Gareth rolled his eyes both at the ginger girl and the weird Gryffindor boy who was with Beverly. Gryffindor. Seriously? She was hanging with one of those...meh.
Then the professor was talking to him again. Pick the fang? Gareth narrowed his eyes at the man but refrained from saying anything. He silently went by Beverly and picked the bloody snake fang up from the floor. The professor was kicking him out the classroom. Just wait until his uncle would hear about this. The old man had NO IDEA. Still, the Slytherin boy was not going to say anything. He idly threw the bloody snake fang on his desk, on his own stuff there and left the classroom with an unimpressed expression.
Of course, not forgetting to slam the door shut after himself.
