"What, and ruin the surprise? Hardly any fun in that," he mused with a quick wink in her direction.
And he wasn't going to mention anything about the food he had just seen. He was hardly one to talk
"Just enjoy the festivities."

That had been the amount of time the astronomer had not had not been paying attention to the two prefects and LOOK what had happened. "No sense in kicking a man when he is down, Miss Cambridge," he said while shaking his head.
Looking forlornly towards the fire place fora moment, he walked over to the pair and checked on the boy. Still breathing. That was a good sign. "Let's just get him up off the floor then, shall we," he said as he scooped up the male prefect and brought him over to one of the sofas and lay him down on it, throwing one of the crimson blankets over him. He then ventured a glance towards Seren and shrugged. "Suppose if we just leave him there he ought to come around soon." Hadn't been that terrible a fall, had it? "Pity he will be missing the schmo making."
Speaking of which...
"Who wants to make some delicious hot schmoes!? I've got plenty of sticks and marshmallow for all!"
The Professor would need some work trying to hide the amused look. He'd been wearing it all evening and she was beginning to think that she'd become a big joke without really knowing HOW. Lex couldn't remember the Professor being this
mean.
Only joking, she wasn't that sensitive. Still, a little heads up would have saved her all the trouble. She could have gotten caught on the way up.
"Surprize, right, it's definitely a surprize." But that would be her only comment on the matter because like he said, she'd be enjoying this festive stuff....er....as soon as he fixed Louis.
Or, you know, he could just leave him like that, it wouldn't be any skin off her back. Lex happened to LAIK being the only Prefect last year, this was hardly a problem...minus the looks the Professor was giving. Him and Professor Bentley.
The Gryffindor happily stepped out of the way, resisting the urge to get that last kick out. If the Professor knew what he was doing then by all means. While she suspected she was meant to show even a lick of remorse for what she did, the girl couldn't help but have her hand shoot up at the mention of s'mores. S'mores > Botlon. The simplest equation out there.
"I'll have some! And...I assume he'll be alright, yeah?" SEE?? SHE COULD PRETEND TO CARE WHEN NEEDED. Ahem.
SPOILER!!: Candice

Sir Nicholas? The Ghost? "Oh. He's okay. He talked funny actually." And she gave the Ghost 9 out of 10 for his entranced. He also made one of the first year puked but she didn't need to tell Lex that. It might ruin her appetite. Its certainly ruined her.
"Yet." Lex corrected, though she was sure they wouldn't. This set proved to be a lot more 'chill' than previous ones. It wasn't like way back when they had people like Vickers and Elliot who believed and tried getting others to believe in the superiority of
their house. Pfft. Right.
"Doesn't matter, you're with us now so we're practically family. Think that's a rule somewhere." An unwritten one maybe.
And did she just say the ghost was 'okay'. Lex's mouth nearly fell open but she was more composed than that so she merely nodded. In her memory Sir Nicholas didn't talk funny but then her brain worked differently so maybe he did.
"Did he share the story of why he's nearly headless?" That was a good one though she could tell it wasn't one of his favourites...understandably so.
Glancing over, she spotted Ezra had already gotten himself a seat and was gesturing to them. Lex nodded toward him, drawing the girl's attention to him.
"Looks like he saved us seats. You coming?" She asked, before heading over and flopping next to him. BRING ON THE SUGAR!
SPOILER!!: Bentley

Smiling and nodding was happening as she listened, slowing at the point about Quidditch and deciding she wanted to come to come to school in spite of it?
"Oh well I'm thrilled you convinced yourself, I'd hate to be a prefect short..." because this was a joke right? Right? She winked regardless, so if it wasn't a joke before, it was now.
Seren bounced on the balls of her feet, thrilled with the plans they were forming already, and with additional company too.
"First of October should be fine, I'll pencil you in and we'll negotiate a time." It was virtually planned, and now she had things to look forward to. Excellent!
But now.... a cup of tea was calling her name.
....
........
..........
But Merlin... she turned her back for mere seconds, SECONDS, and a student was rendered unconscious, a prefect no less, and at Cambridge's hand. She'd have rushed over and done the HoH thing, but Airey was proving himself useful and he was no doubt far more capable of caring for Louis than she was.
Seren gave Airey a curt nod of acknowledgement and thanks, see, it really was no wonder she didn't venture up here often. And there he went with schmoes thing, that thing, she was curious.
Tea in hand, she sidled up beside her colleague.
"You're going to have to talk me through this, I'm clueless." Well........
"I don't think being a Prefect short would be too bad. It was like that last term and I mean...if Bolton doesn't wake up I reckon we'll have to go right back to that." Er....not that she WAS hoping he wouldn't wake up or anything. Nah, that would have been bad form right there and let's face it, she was too young for Azkaban, don't you think? Besides, she'd have to listen to Delilah going on and on about her outting her boyfriend and as
appealing as that all sounded, she'd have rathered not. Funny how the Professor thought she was joking about that convincing herself thing.
OH and her plan for Lottie was a go!
"Excellent! Can't wait--oh and I do still get that snargaluff, right? Now that I even got myself an 'E' in Herbology? I'm all kinds of competent. Won't get myself eaten, honest." Now getting
others eaten was a different story, one she probably shouldn't comment on. Just saying.

Oh so they were going to continue with Gobstones. Well maybe he would go play that since he couldn't play Quidditch. And then again maybe not.
He had just opened his mouth to say something when a raised voice from the corner of the room caused him to pause. He turned his head slightly to listen. It appeared Zahra was getting on someone's nerves. Hehe. It wasn't the first time and it wouldn't be the last either.
His girlfriend could take care of herself so that's why he wasn't going over there to get in the guy's face, but he would be listening.
He turned his attention back to Alexa. "So looks like you're going to have to get your license the legal way then huh?" He was quietly relieved that she hadn't gone through with her daring mission into the Ministry. And as for stuff that they could do, Michael trusted that she would tell him later when it was a more appropriate time.
You know...she'd never actually thought of it that way but what if Mikey was right? What if the threat was really just a part of something bigger? Had to admit that was an interesting thought right there.
"Maybe...kinda like when they got us ice-cream that one year then tried feeding us to the dementors." That hadn't been a very good term. Not at all. Couldn't even enjoy the ice-cream proper.
"Guess it's gonna be another term of keeping our eyes peeled and trying not to die. Should be easy enough with all the Aurors around." If push came to shove Lex was positive the Headmistress would sacrifice
them in an effort to save the students so their chances of survival already increased greatly. Would you look at that.
She could see a sentence lost of Mikey's lips and followed his gaze with her own eyes. What she saw didn't surprize her and it didn't seem to surprize him either. How could it? He must have known Zahra REALLY well by now.
Lex shrugged at his question.
"Yeah, looks like it, but only by default. I'll be off age by the time summer rolls around again." An exciting thought might she add. Magic outside school, she'd been waiting on this for ages.

Who would really say no to food in any form?
Aubrey Valentine was impressive, the older girl had just confirmed it. "Oh yeah, I remember different people telling me things that the hat took into consideration so I guess that would be true." Abby was very different from her in so many ways. It kind of sucked that she was in a different house, but at the same time it was nice to have a little independence from her sister. Sure, Angel was here with her but it was one less sister to deal with.
When were the professors going to be leaving. She had to try to hide a yawn. She did NOT want to look lame in front of the cool older girl.
Having already agreed to roast with her but not willing to leave Ezra after he'd offered her a seat, Lex made a compromise, ushering the girl over to take the seat next to her. Then she'd be able to roast marshmallows and enjoy it with them both and they could make friends and everything would be grand. See how that worked?
She gave a firm nod at the girl's words.
"Yup. The hat knows what it's looking for. I thought I had what it took to be a Ravenclaw before I got sorted but I like what the hat saw better." Looking back, it was hilarious. Lex was no Ravenclaw, not by a long shot, but it was okay. She'd come to quickly learn that she didn't want to be anything but a Gryffinor anyway.
Op and someone was getting tired. It was expected, today'd been a long one. Long train ride, long feast and now this. She suspected they'd all be spent.
