"Here, take one," he said as he pushed the box towards her, once the piece in his mouth was swallowed. But then, she got up and he eyed her.

Oh, curfew, right. He briefly considered walking her to her common room, but he was too lazy to. She... would she mind? Naaaah... nah. If she really did, he would win her heart back. Yep.

But then she was being CHEESY and he worried she would be taken aback that he didn't even offer.

"Merlin, Sophie," he said, "I promised you, remember? I'm here, until you graduate, unless Annie fires me. The kids, heh," he chuckled, "I try to look intimidating so that they behave." She knew? "But I'm happy to hear these." He smiled at her sincerely then, and looked touched for a moment, before he got up himself and walked to open the door for her.

"Have fun at your first night, girl, don't go around make people sad. Want me to walk you to your tower?" And he meant it: he really would walk all that way for her.
Raising an eyebrow, Sophie giggled at him a little. "Well, thanks. I'm glad I'm not a mainstream clever-head, too." That did sound like a boring life. She shook her head at his offer of the pineapple, but smiled at him warmly. "Nope. Present for you. All yours." She had plenty more boxes of those back in her trunk in her dormitory anyway.

As soon as she was done with her cheesy spiel, she tore her gaze back away from him, a little bashful. It was nice to hear that he really did have every intention of staying there, and it hadn't just been some line he used to get her to not worry last term. "Okay." A pause, and then, "Thanks, sir." Meant a lot to her, but she didn't go on to say that. Surely he knew.

After another moment, she started toward the door, but she asked quietly, "Annie wouldn't fire you, would she? Aren't you two old friends?" It was a nice offer on his part, to walk her to the tower, but she rolled her eyes at him anyway. "Don't be silly. I'm the one who came to visit you down here. It'd be dumb for you to go all the way up there only to come allllll the way back down here. Waste of time, unless you have brooms or one of those cool flying carpets down here to navigate the halls better." Did he?
