As Louis pulled her up by her arm, all Lux could feel was pain. Her forehead felt like it was on fire, and her nose... what was WRONG with her nose? It hurt like crazy and it did not FEEL right at all.

Louis felt a nasty twisty feeling in his gut as Lux whimpered about the pain, her large brown eyes filling with tears. He didn’t consider himself THAT sensitive, but to see his little Lady all teary-eyed like that made his heart ache. And then she was
crying! Oh, he’d really done it this time.
“Oh no— Lux, I’m so sorry. Don’t cry, it’ll be okay, I promise.” He felt so bad. Could a hole just open up in the ground and swallow him whole? He’d probably never be able to forgive himself for this. “We have to take you to the Healer,” he decided a second later, wrapping an arm around the little girl’s waist and the other behind her knees as he proceeded to pick her up while bringing himself up to his feet. He didn’t trust her to walk without tripping.
