He crouched in front of her and considered the very meager amount of information he had. 1) She was writing a letter, 2) she couldn't say everything she wanted to say, but 3) she wanted to say something. Very meager, actually. Could he assume she was writing to a family member or friend based on that information?

You can talk about the fun things you do... without being specific. What do you want to share that you're having trouble with?"

McFly was sweet, Marigold had to say that. He was helping her out with a problem that he knew nothing about. She looked back down at her paper, on which Dear Moo, School's just starting was written. She was pathetic and could totally figure out a way to avoid saying the stuff about magic without help but the thing was she WANTED to share it with Moo. She was a pathetic and floppy person.

Looking back up at McFly, she wrinkled her nose a tad bit to try and stop the overwhelming urge to cry for no reason. "I guess... I know it sounds lame, but I have this muggle friend who doesn't know about magic, and I want to tell her things without leaving out the magic, but I can't figure out how." Go ahead. Laugh at her. She didn't know why on earth she was feeling so bummed about this anyway.
