It seemed that Ava's anxieties had been more or less assuaged, and Jake was glad. Couldn't have his little sister fretting, after all. Everything wasn't quite wonderful, what with the whole 'death threat to school Quidditch players' thing, but he understood what Ava meant. Family stuff, y'know.
Once Ava had released him, Jake tugged his robes again before taking a good look at the little Gryffindor. He couldn't help but feel his own mood lift as a result of seeing her so happy.
"I'm sure you can hang out here if you want, but if one of the professors tells you to go sit down, well... them's the rules," Jake shrugged one shoulder, giving a little grin. Ah, it was good to see the little lion again.
Of course Jake had been working. Clearly. He'd already explained that. Ava nodded her head thoughtfully, glad that her normal calmness was starting to return to her.
"Thanks!" she said. She was sure it would only be a matter of time before she was told to go sit down but for now... If her brother was here, HERE was where she wanted to be. Sure she was hungry. But who needed food? She would just ignore those irritating sounds coming from her stomach.

Hearing Grace's voice, Ava gave a tiny jump. WOW! Had she seriously just forgotten about her? Here she was, jabbering on and on without even pausing to bring Grace into the conversation. SO RUDE!
She turned an apologetic glance towards her best friend and grabbed her hand to give it a squeeze. Good thing she remembered to bring all of those start-of-term presents.
