Ah, his co-worker had had a similar idea to him. That was good. Jake gave Alysson, whom he recognised vaguely from Level Two, a nod in greeting, and went back to focusing back on the kid in front of him (but still keeping an eye out on the Hall. Duh.) Every now and then Jake's focus would drift over to the Gryffindor table, to try and find a particular little someone, but maybe she was sat somewhere else, because he couldn't find her.
Until...

She found him.
Ava was stood right in front of him throwing a whole bunch of questions at him, and Jake could only blink at her. When she suddenly hugged him, the ex-Hufflepuff was slightly alarmed, but only for a moment. He hugged his little sister back as a smile finally graced his features.
"Hey Ava," Jake replied, ruffling her hair slightly. "It's good to see you too. Hey Grace," he nodded to her friend, whom he recognised from various previous encounters and photos. And, you know, he'd known her mother. "Good journey?"
But anyway, back to all those questions.
"Mum's okay, everything's fine with her, don't worry," he assured Ava, or both girls, really. "We've just been stationed here for extra security. No need for you to worry. I expect the Headmistress-" Bunbury... ehehe "-will explain it in her speech."
