Sinead was hungry, really hungry. So maybe she'd had plenty of sweets on the train but THEY WEREN'T ENOUGH.

So she was looking forward to a nice hot dinner, maybe chicken or something. But then she had to queue up for HOURS just to get a mouldy old hat stuck on her head to shout out something meaningless to her.

Food was more important than this.

Obviously they didn't agree. It took forever for someone to finally call out "O'Dowd, Sinead." Grinning and thinking of food, she skipped up to the chair and sat down.

Food, food, food, she chanted in her head. She almost had food.

"Brave, I see," the hat said. Why was the hat TALKING? She thought it only said the house name, not actually TALKED. "There is arrogance, too."

What? "I'm right here, you know!" she exclaimed impatiently. "And I want food. Just shout out a house and be done with it!" It wasn't that hard.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

She skipped over to what she hoped was the Gryffindor table, sighing in relief.

Now she could sit down and eat... right?
