She automatically reached for the wand strapped at her hip, still carrying the small box at the other hip that held the makeshift floo powder that was to be her effort at gaining access to the Ministry. She did not aim her wand at anything, merely felt comforted by having it there, at the ready.
The auburn-haired scientist followed behind, looking about at the destruction, before she let out a quiet gasp at the thought of what had happened to the rest of the floor. More specifically, her lab. Elinor took a few steps in that direction, but would not leave the area unless and until her department head gave her a say-so. Still. There was destruction as far as the eye could see. What was it she had told herself at the fireplaces? That it wasn't a crime scene?
