Well, either the first two years of being homeschooled had taken its toll on her first wand or maybe it was when her neighbors dog thought that her wand was his chew toy. Bad gizmo, very bad dog. But most likely it was the dogs fault that she was standing here in line with a bunch of firsties (or most of more looked like they were) getting a new wand.

Once it was her turn she stepped up to the measuring tape. She watched the measuring tape stretch out. The thirteen year old held out her arms so they could get measured. How long were her arms? Then her legs were measured. Didn't they have her measurements on file or something? This seemed to be taking forever. Lastly the tape measure measured how long she was. Now all she had to do was wait for a wand maker to figure out another wand for her. She really missed her old one.
