She wanted very much to head down to the pitch at that moment, but what reason did she have? West had plenty of others to comfort him, he didn't need her. Alice wasn't good at the sympathetic stuff, and while she could feel for him, he'd be better off getting cheered up by others. And he still had a duty as captain to see to his players and all; it'd be a while before he'd be alone and most likely a wreck.

She didn't know how to take the maybe, but sitting up in the stands watching them was worse than watching the match. Dora didn't want to do it. Reaching out, she took hold of Alice's sleeve and gave it a gentle tug.
