She had obviously missed something here, something that was integral, because the conversation, which had been running smoothly had somewhat stopped awkwardly at her question.
"I'm sorry, 'ave I said some-zing vrong?" Justine asked, though the boy was laughing at the mishap, she couldn't help worrying that she might have caused him some unease.

"Non, non, it is noticeable, but I am just glad zat it is not as bad as some of zee other children," Justine said, with a light smile, shaking her head at the boy's very kind compliment, but really she couldn't accept it this time, because this newly aged Justine was not beautiful. "Maybe, ether vay, you are lucky," Justine added with a soft laugh.
