Why did it not surprise her that the Editor in Chief was an impressionable fellow? It really was no wonder that the Prophet's standards had dropped, it was nothing more than a trash rag now, playing make-believe and thinking it was publishing news. What they published was not news, it was nothing more than a sound board for whingers and whiners - perhaps the only useful thing they'd done was publish Rusty's please date me article, the one that she had so diligently initiated. Excellent idea on her part, truly. "I didn't realise your staff commanded you," she mused thoughtfully before shrugging it off. As for what to do with De La Garza, that much was obvious, no need to see him for that... but... "You can see him once we're done with him. So by all means, sit tight and make yourself at home."

The redhead was becoming increasingly annoying. There was something in her manner and way of speaking that reminded her of children. Her insistence at checking De La Garza is what did it, those questions, so persistent. Dogmatic. "He's fine, and Ms. Morgan and Mr. Skeeter will be allowed to see him in due time..." she on the other hand would not. This was the DMLE, not a zoo. There would be no audiences and staring and gawking or petting. No. "You're welcome to wait in reception in that time." Or leave. Those were her only options. "And of course, we'll need your statement too," Emily added her tone kindly though the faintest smile she wore was completely fake.

With a nod and a head tilt in Muriel's direction, Emily then turned her attention back to Mariel. Mariel, Muriel, why did they have to be so similar? Hhhmmm? "One of my staff will be over shortly, you'll be in good hands," she informed, ignoring the whole discussions between the Department Head and the Prophet Man in regard to posting bail. She didn't care who paid it, so long as it was done or the man stayed in his cell.
