Vic had been on about him being the perfect guy for her friend and how she'd known he would treat her well and they'd be perfect. Quite the memory he had. Was it any wonder why he freaked? He didn't think he was the right guy for anyone, add what sounded like eternity and the thought he was good for anyone and it quickly became a 'no'. Gavin had been following her line of conversation well enough but there was one part that had him wishing she'd back track abit for his sake. "The Leaky Cauldron? I'm sorry, am I missing something?" Was that where she'd been staying these days? When did that happen? As for reasons Girls Night Outs didn't happen, he gave a small, unconvinced shrugged. "Nah. If she didn't want to she would have told you straight up." It was one of the things he could appreciate about Emily when she wasn't shooting holes through his ego, her honesty.

Sounded like a solid plan if she ever needed to and Gavin simply nodded along. It wasn't a must that she go seeing the other departments, not by a long shot, but it was interesting to see how the other half lived, or in this case the other Departments during this whole lockout. Might as well, it wouldn't be lasting forever. Not nearly that long. The lunch idea was inspired. "Let me know if you decide to. We can head over to that cafe they've got down the street....the building we have....isn't conducive to lunch. I couldn't expect you to eat in there." No. In fact he encouraged his own employees not to. Merlin he couldn't wait for them to blast a hole back inside the Ministry. He chuckled, amused by what she'd said next. "It still makes little sense to me. You think the world had a better sense of humour but he walked right in and proved otherwise." He gave an indifferent shrug. "His loss. Mr. Neves has the potential to be good company if you let him stick around." But noooo Mr. Summers didn't like visitors. Pfft.

"You're kidding." He said, leaning back into his seat and fixing her a curious look. "Since you were a child? Any particular reason or just a lack of time and opportunity." There was nothing he could do to hide the smirk. Yes, it was good he'd won. He liked winning especially with the prizes involved. "Pretty sure we both wanted me to win, even if she didn't say it." And there it was, the way he could help. Conversations like this weren't bad, he would almost admit to liking them if it wouldn't give people the wrong impression that he enjoyed the company of humanity in general. "I can manage that. It's not often I run into people...or try to for that matter," not even, "but it's doable." So long as it could help, he could.

How could she not smile at that? “Maybe it was, but I always have my reasons.” She still thought he would be a good one for Mariel, but she liked him with Emily as well, plus Mariel had that journalist, though Vic really didn’t like him. She didn’t know why, but she just didn’t trust the man. She knew there wasn’t really any way around his question and the slip of the tongue put her in that situation, “Yes the leaky I’ve been there about a month now. I’ve been going through some things, I’ll be fine though, seeing a healer for most of it, but Charely and I separated. I need to start looking for a more permanent place, just haven’t gotten around to it yet.” The thought of finding another home was making her drag her feet. She felt so dumb even saying she failed again at a relationship, especially when she had children involved again. “You are right about that. It’s a great quality Emily has. She has many great qualities, but I do like her honesty.” A great quality that many people really didn’t have.

[b] “I really might think about seeing the other departments, maybe it would do me some good.”[b] For reasons of being social, she probably should get out more, but she feared it at the same time. “But I would like to visit and do lunch with you. So whenever you think is best. I’m always able to leave the hanger when I want, so my schedule is pretty easy.” She didn’t travel much, no need when she could just sent owls to the teams with what she needed, but maybe she should start going their way more. Get out of the office and be more hands on. It probably wouldn’t hurt. “A café sounds nice.” not having been to many around, she wasn’t sure what was good and what wasn’t. “Oh I eat at the hanger, it can’t be worse than that.” The plane hanger was just dreadful, but workable so she dealt with it.

“Everyone should get your sense of humor, it’s just odd when they don’t.” Maybe there was a little sarcasm in her voice, but Victoria got his sense of humor, she really didn’t understand how others didn’t. “Who is Mr. Neves?’ She was afraid to ask, but at the same time she didn’t really know too many people so he could be a person, couldn’t he?

Shaking her head, “I’m not really sure why, just haven’t been around it to have the chance to ice skate, but it does sound fun.” Maybe she’d find somewhere to take Bart, he hadn’t ever ice skated, and she assumed he might like it. Her smile grew, “Oh really? So you winning must have meant a pretty good bet.” Yep her mind was going places, but she just chuckled and grinned. Go Emily.. was all she was going to say about that.

“I’m glad it’s doable, because I am enjoying getting to talk to you and catch up.” She hadn’t realized how much she missed social interaction and talking with friends until just now.
