Er....
What was he on about? Ashley blinked trying to see what Zeke was trying to get out of everything he was spewing to her uncle. Was it pity? Did he want to make him feel bad? There was talk about Emily so she would assume as much but....The girl shook her head. He was waaaaaay out of his league with this one. Avery still didn't know what they were talking about but they'd dropped it by and she didn't think asking would give her answers so instead she watched Zeke. It was kinda funny how he kept rattling off like that. Her uncle wasn't listening and if he was he wasn't proper going to take him serious. It's why she didn't use words anymore. Not really anyway. She shot Ashley a look, trying to to snicker and ruin her half pout she was trying to use on her uncle. It was giggle worthy though and she wouldn't tell him otherwise. Yeah she saw the look her sister shot her and bit her lip so she wouldn't burst into giggles. Zeke needed to learn. The 'well' was enough to tell him that the boy wasn't about to drop this. Gavin spared a glance at the clock across the room. He wasn't so crunched for time that he'd simply walk away. Hearing him out would be easy enough. The logic of a child had the tendency to amuse him on the odd occasion.
It was to be noted that the boy didn't do handshakes, they could get along just fine--good faith. Gavin raised an eyebrow at him. It sounded oddly like a form of guilt manipulation. Something along the lines of 'pinky swear with me or I'll be scarred for life and you'll be to blame then I'll hate you forever'. It didn't leave the man impressed, rather, he refused to believe that was all he could come up with. Good faith? The man was once a Slytherin, the only faith he needed existing was the one in himself.
His earlier look of disbelief melted and was replaced with one of amusement, his lips twitching into a half smirk. Clever boy mentioning Emily, it would have worked...on someone else. "Yes, I do think she'd be upset, terribly upset but then what?" She'd be upset he wouldn't pinky promise a little boy then........break up with? Stop talking to him forever? Never go back to France with him? "The world doesn't work quite the way you think it does. I assure you, she'd get over it," Gavin looked to Ms. Smith before sparing him another glance and a matter of fact look. "and so would you."
He sighed at the still outstretched pinky then lowered it slowly. "If you can't trust my words then you definitely can't trust my pinky."
The weekend? This weekend. He gave it some thought, mentally going over his schedule. Weekends weren't as empty as they should have been and the girls had other committments. "If you can convince Ashley to miss football and Avery to miss ballet then I don't see why not. Barring that it'd have to wait until sometime in the late afternoon." Did anyone go to the zoo at that late hour? It seemed almost pointless given the zoo was something near an all day event. Ashley was watching, always watching and saw the look Zeke gave her. That's all they'd been doing, passing looks. Ashley eyed the woman grinning at her uncle. Right. Mhm. She made for the desk behind her but once she was as far as Zeke she began taking small steps too.
Next stop, who knows, they had the whole building to explore. She shot her sister expectant looks. Come on Avery. As much as she pretended she didn't want her coming, she did. Not that she'd ever admit it if asked. She wasn't going, nope nope nope. Was the word 'non' not registering to anyone? It sounded just the same in English. There should have been no misunderstandings so the girl would be standing right here.
Her eyes widened a bit at the looks--she got looks! She never got looks! She could go with them!!!--where the noises were. Nope. Nope she was standing right here, merci. He wasn't stuuuuuupiiiidddd... he knew what it felt like to have others looking at him and whispering about him and exchanging looks about him. He got it on a daily basis for as long as he could remember, now was no different. Therefore, he didn't care. The girls could stand and be mean, he was simply trying to get them all a good deal. If they didn't want in on it... FINE. He'd have it for himself.
After flashing a quick and disapproving look to the girlies, Zeke turned back and focused his attention on Gavin again. Did he not understand that Emily would break things... things that might be broken on him, if not him. But theeeennn what? "Well, then you'd be in trouble. Seee.. she's stuck with me forever, but as far as I can tell you're not married to her, so if you make things difficult for me and I get upset and I upset Emily, then she'll be upset with you for upsetting me." Seriously, how many more times did he need to say it? If Gavin wanted things to work, pleasing him would be a good way of going about it. Mmhhhmmm.
Emily wouldn't get over it, not if he reminded her of it every day, and he wouldn't get over it if he had to be bored and missing out on fun stuff all the time because they worked and stuff.
It was becoming clear that Gavin wasn't going to pinky with him, so he dropped his hand, his eyes narrowing slightly. Trust his words. Words were nothing without action - like pinky swears.
Perhaps though he'd still be useful with zoooo plans, because he couldn't make those on his own, there was only so much he could do to plead with Emily, but her no was a no. Which is why he needed leverage, like the hopes of two girlies and her boyfriend. They had to be as invested in this as he was for it to work. "Oooohhh, you guys can skip this weekend so we can zooo, yeah?" he asked turning to them, all smiles again.
....
....
.....
Would they be caught? Zeke looked back at Ashely - she was good with tagging along and stuff. Being locked up here might not be too bad so long as they could wander around. He paused long enough to motion for Avery to hurry, because really, she didn't want to be left by herself. It might scare her or something. SPOILER!!: SOMETHING/SOMEONE OVER THUUURRR Quote:

That was going to be THREE people to show around her home and siiiiiing to...
Peeking around the corner again, she seen her new friends talking...Did they want to stay? Were they thinking about leaving? No...Virginia needed to make them see how fun it was here......and what was a majigoo?
She'd need to get their attention...
It was sad she had to hide. The people that were in her home now were different from the others. They had sticks that did funny things and talked about mujjles. How were people scared of her when they were so strange? Trying not to let that make her too sad, she peered down at her feet.
Catching sight of her hand, her best dolly, Anna, was hanging there, loosely. Maybe if she used Anna to get their attention, they would come away from their mommy and daddy...She moved her dolly out from behind the wall just far enough for them to maybe see her. Did they see Anna?
Could she sing right now? The mommy and daddy might not like that... It was only when he looked back to his target destination that he saw something. WHAT WAS THATTTT?! Therrrreeee! He turned swiftly to Ashley, a finger to his lip and his other hand pointing in the direction of the thing. They should go look. Now.
Yep... he wasn't waiting. His legs moved a little faster forward, but he was careful not to make any sound.
