Theo chuckled, and hoped Ella wouldn't notice. "Well, before you do, you owe me that dance, remember?" That was pretty much why he hadn't let her escape already. Were the band gonna start playing soon, orrrrrrrr? Oh. His date? Hm. Theo's grin faded to a regular one, because he wasn't bothered exactly, just a bit bummed. "Don't have one." He said, fiddling with his tie once again.
Blushing was happening. Compliments, y'know? And because they were doing the not awkward thing, Ella simple beamed back and nudged him gently in the shoulder.
"Thanks for saying that." She wasn't buying it though. Just saying. And Lex was being nice to him?
"That is a bit odd. Be careful." Because he might have been kidding about the poison stuff but who knew, yeah? "And you're not allowed to die, didn't you know? Head Girl's rules and all." Power had its privileges. And that giggling? N'aww. Cue more grinning from the eighteen year old.
"I guess that's true." She hadn't really noticed to be honest. Spent most of her time in the library these days, or out on the pitch. Who had time to keep up with the love lives of Hogwartians? And the shuddering? Ella shouldn't be so amused by it but she let out a soft laugh before shrugging her shoulders.
If he was laughing at Alec, which Ella was hoping wasn't the case, she was going to ignore it so that no fighting happened. Arguments with Theo were the worst and they'd spent too much time not talking, yeah? So play nice, Theodore.
"Mhm, I remember. You want to dance now or?" The music from the sound system was nice enough but she was sort of keen to wait for the band to start up. Wanted to listen too and all. As for him not having a date, Ella smiled a little and raised her eyebrows.
"I know your game, Theodore Kinsley." Grin.
"You're just here solo so you can sneak in and ask Bellaire to be your Valentine."
