Could you tell she was excited? Like COULD YOU?
Happy sigh. This was going to be amazing. A night out with Lucas, gosh that Drop. Dead. GORGEOUS. thing and he was going to this ball with HER. She felt so lucky, like nothing bad could happen at all. Nope not on the day of love and well cooties for some..not that she was planning to get any of those in the public eye. At least Roda understood all about that, or Abbi thought he did.
Oh gosh. Roda. Siiiiigh.
Trying her super best to look pretty, Abbi entered the Great Hall. She bopped her head trailing along the front where the music was, but neared the back wanting to explore a little before Roda came. Just so she could suggest things to do, you know? Cause awkward quietness and turtles would be OUTRAGEOUS. Mhhhhmmm!
So what could they do then? Ohh...was that a photobooth? SQUEEEE.
It wasn't like it was hard to spot her and it wasn't just that he had SPIDEY senses or the fact that she had the reddest hair he'd ever seen. Instead, she was just brimming with what he interpreted was happiness. It was a good thing too because he was practically jumping with nerves and anticipation. But she looked so pretty. Like, his eyes might've taken on the heart emoji look if he hadn't stopped himself from STARING.
They were friends. And Valentines. And secret admirers. WHATEVER THAT MEANT.
Instead, he toned down the look of bewildered adoration and practically ran over to her. His nervous energy translating into an exuberant,
"HEEEEEEY OWLIIIIIIIIIE," and a hug because it was a good way to avoid meeting her eyes, but he pulled back quite quickly because he didn't want ANOTHER lecture on cooties and also because this way he could look at her properly. PRETTY DRESS.
"That's a really nice dress. You look really nice. ...Not that you don't look nice usually, but this is cool. Yeah. Uh. COOL. I almost didn't see you," he told her, only stopping to pause to gesture vaguely at the crowded room.
"I did think maybe you'd had a better offer." Oh man..
"It's AWESOME you're here," he said, quickly.
"With me. I'm glad. It's cool. Cool."
Absolute shambles.
