There was always the possibility of ending up facing someone stronger, so it was a must to keep training till every single muscle in your body cried out "Stop" with ache and beyond that. It was not going to kill them. And pain was no excuse to stop anyway. Feeling pain meant they were alive. No physical weakness was accepted in this Auror's book.

After giving Jory a half smile, Josh turned to Emily when she started to speak. Edgeworth fun was not necessary? Well...that was disappointing...maybe a little bit. Eh...then he would not use the annoying guy for decoration then, if Emily thought he was not supposed to do that. And apparently he was supposed to keep his ideas about Ministry leaders to himself. Josh could understand that. They were heads of the Ministry and he was just an employee way below them in the hierarchy of employees. They could easily get rid of him. "Yes, boss lady." he said. Maybe he could find another way to deal with that.

About the toothbrush, Josh tried not to laugh. Of course, she would want a different toothbrush. He did not think anything of the first toothbrush would be left once he was done with his puddle of urine anyway. He nodded, slightly smirking. Oh...it was no mischievous smirk, he was just trying not to laugh in the middle of the meeting. More...talk to Blaise. That he was going to do so he nodded again. "Will do." And...oh the training. So the boss lady liked the idea. That was cool. Josh smiled "It would be a pleasure for me." he said and yes, it would really be a pleasure for him.

Being a liaison. Hmmm...that sounded like a boring job. Josh Carter was a 'Let's act and kick some bad bums' kind of a guy however being a liaison would apparently give him an access to the Minister's Office and give him the opportunity to being in touch with other leaders as well. Soooo...that did not look bad. He could use this. The Auror made a mental note of considering if he was going to apply for the position.

Meeting over then? Nice. It was quick and informative. The best kind of meetings ever. There was no point of wasting time talking to each other. With that understood, Josh walked and approached this Blaise guy. "This notebooks thing. There's a spell for that. What i write in my notebook appears in yours and others...some stuff like that." They probably knew of this stuff anyway. Josh was no expert of charms, he favoured offensive spells.

Coordinated... lighting? Merlin, when would she learn to STOP being sarcastic around Emily? It got her in trouble during training last year, and now she was in charge of buying a couple of lamps for the place? Y'know what? She'd do it. Buy some lamps, maybe a lava lamp or two... maybe a strand of twinkly lights to wrap around Simon's chair.

"Is there a budget? Ma'am?" Genevieve slid off the edge of her desk and gave Emily a guileless smile. She would coordinate the hell out of the lighting.

And she was going to do that lighting project... but that didn't mean she couldn't report for duty. Genevieve crossed the few feet from her desk perch to the new Head of Security, offering a hand to the man as she approached. "Genevieve Branxton reporting for duty, sir. Are we patrolling all of the department locations, or are we limited to MLE right now? And who is watching the Ministry building proper?"

Hopefully the rest of the people will come over now, so he could get this over with.

SPOILER!!: Kennedy, Anna, Emily, Josh

At least people were taking to his idea of communication ideas. Blaise pondered for a moment at the thought of a cell phone, because he hadn't thought about that one. Muggles really wouldn't notice anything different, but the spells and enchantments around everything was really questionable. Even charming a cell phone might not work out the way they wanted it to.

A mirror would also cause a problem. Not only would a man holding a mirror look - really, really odd - but if a Muggle saw it and paid enough attention, well. That would just be too much attention, and he wasn't about to fill out paperwork for Obliviating someone's memory because they had seen too much.

"If there weren't so many spells and enchantments around here, the cell phone would pass off," he said. "And considering how spread out we are, it was a good idea. Unless there was a way to find old cell phones that don't work, and charm them. But that seems like a lot of work." Which is why he had suggested paper. That would fit in the pocket just as easily as a phone. "Not to mention some of us may not be able to operate it."

He would be one of those people.

"A mirror may also cause problems, especially if a Muggle so just happened to take a look. I don't want to risk that." He really didn't, plus he didn't want to look feminine by carrying a mirror around. Um hello, he was a single man here. Picking up ladies with a mirror? That would turn them away. NEXT.

That's when he focused more on the man who suggested the cell phone. His knowledge of charms and Emily's enthusiasm about it made him feel more confident in the lad. Kennedy, was that his name?

"If we were to use the small notebooks, and pens, would you be able to do the charms?" he asked. "I'll help if you need it."

Blaise turned from his folder when a voice appeared next to him. He put his pen down and looked up at the younger man. He was pretty sure that this was one of his actual security officers, so when he said his name Blaise had to flip on his photographic memory.

"Nice to meet you Jackson. We'll get to that in a minute," he said, looking back down at the desk he had been sitting on. Luckily, there were maps that Emily had said would be out, so he picked one up and handed it to Jackson. "Here's a rough map of the area. Look over it for now. I know you're new here, so I'm going to speak with all of you in a minute about where you feel comfortable working. If I have enough people you may only have to work around one department. If not, they'll be close, and if we can work this notepad charm thing out, it'll make it easier."

SPOILER!!: Simon and G Branx

Blaise watched Simon come over and make himself comfy over here. For now, it seemed as if Simon would be his right hand man, especially since he was already accustomed to working Security.

Well, maybe not in this aspect, since you know, they weren't even at the Ministry right now.

So, waiting for more people, he leaned back against the desk with his folder open and maps sitting beside it. He watched as the blonde girl yelling about rats approached him, and she actually held out her hand.

"Nice to meet you Miss Branxton," he said, returning her handshake. "And yes, we are patrolling all of the departments, including our own reception area." He turned back to the desk he made himself comfortable at, grabbed another map, and handed it to her as well. "Look over this for now. Once we have everyone together we can discuss it further. Though I will probably be around the Minister's area the most, along with Emily. And I will be spread throughout." And out of Gavin's sight, per his request.

Satisfied that they were on the right track with establishing communications, Emily took a step back, simply supervising their progress. Once plans were hatched out and they were on their merry way, then she'd get back to her other work. She did though give Branxton a look. Budget? For the brilliantly time consuming lighting idea she suggested... "I didn't think light fingers and careful charms work required a budget..." just the way she saw it. There would be something public the girl could salvage. Where was Odessa? Her fingers were light enough to be of service.

"I'll take first look at the Ministers Office," Emily supplied, knowing full well she'd have to beat the idea of security into Gavin's pretty head if she had to. She would get her way, and from what she'd heard of the place, they could do with being wrapped in cotton wool for their own safety if not for those that lived in their space. And people thought the underground was bad, pffffttt... they had it made. Really.

She didn't put herself forward, security wasn't particularly in line with her job and it seemed like there were plenty of volunteers who put their names down instead. She got up, leaving the rest of the group and sat herself down at a desk that didn't look too battered, taking out a few pieces of equipment and organising them on the surface.

It was her first day of work and she was a little perplexed by what exactly she could be doing. She wasn't thrilled about the prospect of decorating like some of them had proposed. She wasn't an interior decorator, she liked things simple and if this was only temporary, was there really much point in concentrating their efforts on painting walls when there was work to be done?

Noticing that one of the newbies had made a silent retreat, Emily followed. The circumstances they found themselves in were not ideal, and as a result proper case work was limited. Poor timing for new hires, no?

"Can I be of assistance?" she asked upon approach. Did the woman understand how she could help at this stage? Or was she floundering slightly? Emily's expression was friendly, though indifferent. She was merely checking in and being helpful, it was expected of her. "I understand this wasn't what you were expecting..."
