He... didn't know.
Alec didn't understand the head tilting or why she was looking at him like that but he did understand what it was she was trying to say. "... Oh!" Cue more sheepishness. "That's... I... that's really nice of you to say, you know." And yeah, cheesy. Cheesy but nice. The kind that earned you waffles and kisses and hugs. Just saying. He pulled her hand closer towards him and kissed the back of it. "Thanks!"
He nodded slowly. "That's nice that you wanted to," ... Was he... saying that a lot? Shrug. He cast this aside, especially when she leaned up to kiss his... chin? Small girlfriend was small. "Me too!" GRIN.
"Erm, I was going to go back to the common room so... unless you're busy catching fishes..." Nigel would be proud, right? "... you think you want to come?"
She tried not to notice, really she did. Only it was sort of hard and so Ella moistened her lips and shuffled a bit, smiling a little wider when Alec ruffled his hair.
"Yeah, I...anytime."
He was sweet, Alec was. And whenever he kissed her hand like that, it made her feel sort of like a Princess. Y'know, like the ones in the muggle Disney movies? Princes always seemed to be kissing their hands. Did that make Alec her prince? He did have prince-like hair. Hm. But he had said something, right? What...had he said again? Oh! That it was nice of her.
"I'm just telling the truth." Blush.
Busy catching fishes? Ella blinked and then started to laugh, nudging him gently in the arm.
"You're silly, y'know. And nope, not busy. Just...let me clean up my mess first?" And the Head Girl gave his hand another squeeze before slowly making the trip down the corridor and back, cleaning up the fish she'd dropped on the floor. When she was done, she slipped her hand into his again and smiled.
"Ready." And slowly, she led him towards the stairs.
