Oh no. She'd upset the poor kid. Gwen remembered how that felt. It was a bad feeling to have. "If he wants a divorce yes. But that doesn't mean you won't get to see him. I just saw my mum at Christmas and I stayed there last summer." It made her realize how much she missed her mum...and how mean her dad was sometimes. Mum let her do and have whatever she wanted. Daddy didn't. Harper nodded in agreement as he followed Gwen back towards the Sugar Quills. He didn't love them but he grabbed a few anyway. Sweets were sweets. Her daddy must have been in Hogwarts a very long time ago. His mummy and daddy had both gone to school forever ago, years before 'Melia was born even and she'd been fourteen when he was born.
"So daddy still loves me?" because Harper still loved daddy and he didn't want him not to love him. He wasn't too sure if his mummy loved him anymore. 'Melia had told her that she had a heart of ice and didn't know what love was. She'd also said some other words that Harper didn't understand but he couldn't ask because he'd been eavesdropping and he wasn't meant to do that. "I want to live with daddy," he said solemnly, realising that divorce would mean they wouldn't all live together anymore.
