Unfortunately. Which meant her time alone was going to end and she would get yelled at and she didn't want that.
That word. That icky word. "Yes. It's when you're parents split up forever. My mum and dad got one two years ago. Now mum has a new husband. Dad doesn't like him." She didn't know why. He wasn't that bad. He bought her candy and clothes and anything she wanted.
