Harper turned around to face the girl, she looked about his age, maybe older, and glared back at her. "I think you should watch it. You walked into me I didn't walk into you," he told her petulantly. This was wasting the time he could be spending looking at sweets. "You should apologise," he added sagely, remembering what 'Melia had told him. She said that if someone was being mean or doing something wrong, or if he did either of those things, then he should apologise to the person. He wondered if that meant that Mummy should be apologising to Daddy and 'Melia since she'd been very mean lately. Gwen just eyed the boy. He couldn't be any older than her. And she had a height advantage. Yay for her tall genes from her mother's side.
"You backed up in my path." He hadn't really, but that's what she was going to say if any adults got nosey. Maybe she'd even pull out the tears. That always worked on grown-ups. Gwen crossed her arms over her chest. "Why? I didn't do anything wrong." Silly boy.
