Concentrating on the sun that she wanted to create, Lux jabbed her wand at the powder in the box and said, "Fingere Elementi." Before her eyes, a little sun appeared.
SQUEEE!
She had done it.
Excitedly she bounced on her feet, her eyes wide. "I made a sun!" That was sooo cool. "I want to make more of them!" Too bad she was only supposed to make one.
She did do it!
Ella grinned as she saw how excited Lux seemed, glad she was able to accomplish it on the first try. That was impressive, mhm. "You did. Nicely done, badger!" The eighteen year old laughed softly as she said she wanted to make more. "Maybe after we make the planets?" Maybe. SPOILER!!: Airey Quote:

For lunch we had to walk another 5 kilometers and then swim 2. After we got there, we only had 5 minutes to eat then we had to start off again to make it back in time AND we respected out laboratory equipment NOT to throw it on the table as you have just done."
He would have told the boy to apologize to the goggles, but that was just absurd.
"Yep, you're welcome," he said as he gave the boy a firm pat on the shoulder.
Seriously. Kids these days. Wanting to HUG a nuclear reaction? Might as well have said they wanted to be best friends forever with a black hole. "You can, er, snuggle with the container on your own time. No public displays of affection in my classroom."
Even if it was related to the field of study. Sort of.
Good. Excellent. He gave the Gryffindor boy a firm nod of the head, neck cracking as he did, and then proceeded to hobble back towards the board...
........and was intercepted by a flying lion.
The professor just stared at the boy. Tactics were a bit odd, but as long as he was protecting himself he couldn't really complain. The boy WAS alive still, right? "Look alive, Mr. Toussaint," he said, er, slightly commanded as he poked him in his right side with his cane.
Right. So if she had put it in her bag then it should still be there, yeah? He continued to tap his wand against the floor somewhat impatiently as Miss Hyde fumbled around looking for her wand...only to find that it had been in her pocket the entire time.
"You are not drawing plans, Miss Hyde," he said as he gave a nod towards the board where the instructions were written. "As you can see, the rest of your classmates have been busy creating their stars that will serve as the Sun in their solar systems. If you require assistance catching up, I suggest you ask one of your classmates."
Because he really could not stand up for too much longer. Chair in the front of the room was calling to him. Loudly. Caaaaaaaaaalling.
"Stellar," he smiled at the Ravenclaw. Fine was good. Not fine was bad. "Keep up the good work."
Once the man was back in front of the classroom, he used his wand to summon two large boxes full of dried foliage and small stones from the greenhouses and the Tower Patch - everything from flowers to branches to grass clippings that may or may not have come from the quidditch pitch to leaves. "By now all of you should have your 'Sun' created. If not..." MISS HYDE. "...please do so BEFORE moving on to this next part. You will also be creating your first planet today. Just creating, the theory part of planet formation will be covered next time. I would like you all to come up here and pick one piece of foliage or two from the box on the right and a small stone from the one on the left. Once you have made your selection, I want you all to grab the container of powdered iron and, using your mortar and pestle at your station, grind up everything into a fine powder. Two scoops of the iron, if you will. The stones may take a few good whacks with your pestle, but should break down rather easily. Repeat the same spell as you did with your 'Sun', and toss the swirling ball that forms with your 'Sun' and close the lid on your box. Make sure it is shut tight." OOC: I am so sorry for the slight delay guys >___< thank you all for your patience <3
You should have a minimum of 3 posts for this activity and complete the following steps:- select some foliage from one box
- pick a small stone from the other box
- add two scoops of iron to the mortar
- grind up the above three items into a powder
- perform Fingere Elementi again
- TADA! PLANET!
- Should your character do all this correctly, their planet should not be larger than their 'Sun'. Orbiting around the 'Sun' will not begin just yet either, but some short jagged counter-clockwise movements could happen.
- close the lid on the glass box
You will have at least 48 hours to complete this activity You CAN catch up and do the first activity of making the 'Sun' if you missed your chance.
As always, any questions can be directed to me OOC via PM/VM or IC to Professor Flamsteed.
And hey, it looked like they'd be starting their planets right now!
The blonde did her best to listen to what Airey was saying, head titled so that her right ear was facing his direction. Best way to catch the instructions, this was. Then it was all quickly scribbled down before she forgot it. And that had been happening a lot lately, the forgetting thing. It was terribly annoying. She'd have to carry around a notepad with her name and house on it at this rate. Merlin! /Dramatic
Anyway, time to pick some foliage and a rock. Ella gave Lux an encouraging look and the very slowly got up from her seat and wandered over to where the boxes were placed. Foliage from the right, stone from the left. Easy peasy.
Ella selected a twig and a flower from the box of foliage and then turned her attention to the stones. She sorted through those for a bit, probably being more picky than was necessary. It was just that she wanted a pretty one, okay? That's all. And eventually she found one she liked, small and smooth and a pretty grey-blue color. Just like Alec's eyes.
Now where was that iron?
