Josie had just caught the Professor making this noise as he had come by her. She froze what she was doing after hearing this noise & watched him for a moment or two feeling insecure now. Was she not doing it right? Did she miss something? She felt her heart beginning to beat at a rather rapid pace. Josie placed her wrinkled hand over her chest as she tried to calm herself down, otherwise she might mess up even more. What should she do?
She took a moment to look around taking notice that she'd actually missed something that everyone else seemed to be doing. She hadn't cleaned her glass bowl from the looks it. Was that it? Well come to think of it, she didn't exactly remember cleaning that. But she did remember to clean her cauldron though. Still, Josie quickly jotted down a little side note down on her parchment.
They were moving on & apparently this step required a good hand? She looked down at her hand before she gulped. Did she have good hands? But FIRST, Josie added the hellebore’s syrup into the cauldron as directed and then looked down seeing the puffer-fish eyes. This must have been what the Professor was talking about with having good hands. With
trembling hands she slowly picked up one of the eyes & felt her stomach turn.
Ewwwwwwww.
Before she moved on, she took notice of what a few other students had done & saw that they had done something very clever. In fear of upsetting the Professor again, she followed suit & made sure to clean her knife that she'd be using to cut the back of the eye with. After doing so, she picked up her knife again & turned the eye around looking at the back of it as she slowly made a small cut into the squishy thing. Holding it over the cauldron she then squeezed the liquid into the cauldron
(without looking to avoid getting sick) , then took a moment to put it into the rubbish bin. Cleaning her knife as before, she did the same motion of cutting the back of the eye then squeezing just the liquid into her cauldron; followed by tossing the eyes into the rubbish bin.
Looking up, she noticed the Professor was already moving on to the next step, which was to now stir her potion three times clockwi-NO WAIT
counter-clockwise, with her wooden stirrer. RIGHT! Her wrinkled fingers grabbed onto her wooden stirrer & placed it into her cauldron, before doing as directed to stir potion in the clockwise of being counter! Then she took a moment to lower to her flame to a minimum.
