It sounded both refreshing and warming. Perfect for an evening like this.

Taking his drink, he spotted Trixie almost immediately. She looked lovely in a red evening dress. Freddie was his OCD, pristine self, but he was dressed casually and wished he had taken longer at home to make more of an effort. His hair was also shorter again. Not so drastically close shaved like it used to be, but neat and short cropped. He hoped, if he just acted casual, Trixie wouldn't notice. She was always weird about his hair.

"Hello, angel." The quietly-spoken man greeted his wife with a small smile and a kiss on the cheek. "..You look nice." He took a seat, and, like Trix had been doing not so long before, inspected his glass; not for measurement reasons, but to make sure it was clean. A routine habit of Freddie Broadmoor's even when he was at home, much to the irritation of everyone around him. Satisfied, he took a tentative sip. The drink was as deliciously sweet and warming as he thought it would be. A happy drink.

"Sorry I'm so late." He said, turning his attention back to Trix. "That essay was a nightmare.. but it's done. Finished. Over. ..Thank Merlin." He smiled a little.

"Have I missed much?"

Trixie heard the footsteps approaching her seconds before she heard the voice. She didn't look up from her food however until a kiss was planted on her cheek. She blushed a pale shade of pink and looked up with a smile, only to see what was on top of his head.

Her smile faded into a small frown as she looked at him. "I leave you for a couple of hours and you do that?" she sighed pointing up at his hair unimpressed. "You know I don't like the short hair." It made him look like something he was not and she found him so much more attractive when it was longer. She drew her eyes away and back down to her elderflower wine which she swished around in the glass before taking a sip.

It also didn't help that he was wearing jeans whilst she was glamoured up. "I see you've made an effort" she looked him up and down once. "Its a good job I love you, isn't it?" she rolled her eyes but couldn't help that small loving smile she usually gave him. And there goes his weird habits. She was starting to think he was a germophobe. "I'm sure it's clean, Freddie. They'd of used spells" and not one of those dish washing contraptions which Trixie still didn't understand.

"Are you going to take me out for dinner tomorrow to make up for it?" she asked with an innocent grin. "You've been concentrating so hard on that essay, your poor wife has been neglected." There came that iconic pout which got Trixie her own way quite frequently in her younger years.

"You've barely missed anything. I've only been here a short while myself" she commented slipping her hand into his.
