As Caelen walked across the owlery floor -she was getting good at dodging the messes while not looking down now- she gripped her journal extra tight. Because she was not sending her letters through with mess on them. Ewww! That would be disgusting.
And as she made it to the owl she always seemed to be using, the redhead stopped and felt slightly sorry for him. Because she was always sending him out to send the letters and then he had to get the letters back and it was a never-ending process. And even though that's what messenger owls due -hence the name and everything- Caelen still couldn't resist feeling slightly bad. Shouldn't she due something nice for the owl that sent all of her school gossip, chess ideas and schemes and begs for candy?
But that thought traveled in the back of her mind. Because she was carefully tearing out the four or five pages of letters that needed to be sent. She stuffed two of them in her backpack, noting that her aunt would just have to wait. Aint nobody got time for that letter right now.
And after tearing out the letters and stopping her pleas with herself to not rip any of them in half, she read over the ones to her mom and Rockwell. To make sure they were all spelled correctly and such.
Dear Mom,
So lessons have started, and I think I'm doing well. Well, I'm at least doing better than my brother. Has he been doing the chore stuff that I had to do. Because that's soo not fair if he doesn't have to do it.
Also, my candy supply is kind of diminishing and fast. Please send me more candy! And ask your sister to send some cookies. Aunty makes the best cookies. And never tell Rockwell I call her Aunty. He'll have a field day with it. I don't need that kind of negativity in my life.
And I sort of learned how to fly. Well I already knew the flying part, but it's the landing that always was really hard. And I'm not sure if I told you this, but I finally get it! And I'm in a club and I've been studying and such. So yeah, I've been good here at Hogwarts. I need the candy.
Tell me everything that's happening at home and I'll help whip my brother into shape. And also send sweets.
Love Caelen.
And when that letter was read and she was sure it made sense and sounded loving instead of someone asking for a ransom, she read Rockwell's.
And then when the two letters were read over and deemed acceptable, she tied them to the leg of the owl with two ribbons and sent it of flying with a promise thats she'd try to find a treat for him when she came back. Because after all the owl did for it, it would be nice for a treat.
