Had Delilah just said she didn't look good? WELL. Ella stood up a bit straighter and smoothed her hair, frowning slightly. She knew the girl hadn't meant to make her feel bad but Ella was already feeling a bit meh and to know that she looked that way too wasn't so great.
"I'm going to keep trying." It had been decided. And it was nice of them to worry and all but even the ugly, wrinkly, grey Head Girl who didn't look good didn't quit.
And why was Fern yelling for some vanilla? Had they brought out snacks or something? The head girl peeked around for any sign of cupcakes because mmm, vanilla. Oh and dancing, right. Stubbornly she began to move to the right again.
Step. Step. Wince.
See? She was fine.

Although he was a bit concerned how the next part lesson would play out. So he just sort of shuffled right on by them before giving his cane two more loud taps against the ground and the music stopped.
"Alright, that is enough Cupid Shuffle for now," he announced. "Time for a bit of a change of pace. Many of you may have been wondering why there are changing rooms in here, and here is why. In order to get a little more into character and stretch our comfort zones a bit more, we need the proper attire. Ladies, if you will please go into the rooms on the left to change, gentlemen on the right. You will all find a variety of ballroom dance gowns and suits in your respective house colors. While traditionally girls would be expected to wear gowns, I will not be making that a requirement today. Same with the, er, boys. If you really want to wear a gown...go for it?" He glanced over at the the tights obsessed Groundskeeper. Except you. Please don't. Nightmares. "Please do not go looking for a partner at this moment. There will be instructions for how to select your partner once we are all changed and ready. Now go on and get changed....except for you two," he said as he pointed to the chained together Slytherin and Hufflepuff. "You two stumble your way over to me."

The boy casted a look down at Fern's feet as she began to follow him, but stopped when she stopped and looked over toward the Headgirl. Oh no. Fern was gonna...and she was...PULLING HIM! With her Re'em-like strength. This was about when he'd spotted his little Hufflepuff Mona Lisa...looking not at all the work of art. In fact, Toby looked dark somehow. He HAD to find out what was up with that. Resisting her pull, Cutty began his own tread across the floor making his way over to Tobias.
Then the instructor was calling them over.
Cutty stopped his pulling for a moment and nearly lost his footing to Fern's own pulling. He tugged twice at their binding and indicated for her to follow. Did the instructor mean literally shuffle their way over to him? It seemed a shame to waste valuable practice time. So he didn't. Cutty practiced his Cupid shuffle right on over to where Flamsteed was and Fern had better be alert!
What was Cuthbert DOING!? Fern grit her teeth and pulled harder and harder and she was pretty sure she was definitely going to dislocate something now and it was going to be her shoulder and HARDER.
Why was Cuthbert so strong!? And where was Ella!? Fern couldn't see the seventh year anymore - was it because there were too many students in the way? Or was it because she had fallen to the ground? Or was it because she had been taken to the hospital wing!?
Fern didn't have time for this stupid tug-of-war.
"Emer-"
But then Cuthbert nearly fell. And Fern, being attached to Cuthbert at the wrist, nearly fell as well.
The sudden loss of balance took Fern just enough outside of herself to realize that Professor Airey had been talking. And now he was looking right at them. Why was he looking right at them? And Cuthbert was - Cuthbert was dragging her in his direction. Fern stumbled along beside the Slytherin, simultaneously trying to get her hood back into place and look for Ella.
