This was good and Ella was just happy the girl hadn't burst into tears because she didn't know what she'd do if that happened. Something told her that this kid wouldn't accept hugs from some random older girl.
"That's a pretty name, Josette." Really, it was.
"Which do you prefer?" Josette or Josie. Ella didn't want to call her a nickname only reserved for her father, y'know?
Josette's interest in the cookies only made the Head Girl's smile broaden. Ells was hoping she'd ask.
"Chocolate chip. My Gran's recipe. I was thinking I might be able to use some help...if you're interested."
