Was Tessa going to polish, too? Seemed like that Puffer she was working with knew how to do it right, and Alice knew that guy was fairly smart from his answers in classes, so she wouldn't worry too much. She gave Tessa another grin before returning to the broom she was rubbing polishing herself.
This was so much work. Sigh.

"Of course she's doing it wrong. She's using a kneazle as her partner. Not wise." Because it was a kneazle. And Alice knew how she felt about those. Though right now she was simply jesting. She tossed a wink over at Sophie in greeting, and glanced at her broom looking ready to start. "You really should do something about your lions and their pets."
Finished up her polishing of the handle, Alice began counting to three hundred, waiting for the stuff to dry. Her concentration was broken by Dora, though, but she'd just wait for the haze.
"Her kneazle's real smart. But I don't think he's an expert on broom care." And therefore wouldn't be much help with anything, save for fetching things.
"I don't have a problem with him if he gets me clean rags." She liked not moving. Yep.

She thought of just ignoring Alice...and maybe doing something else since she was doing this wrong but then she was being called over and figured maybe it wouldn't be so bad letting Alice feel like she was right and in charge. It would certainly end better for her.
"Hey Dora and 'Claw person." She said, settling in next to them, with Felix slung over her shoulder again. Lex had seen the girl around and she'd seen her playing Quidditch before but she'd never actually gotten around to intros.
Alright, she was here. Make with the showing how to properly polish the broom so she could get back to it.
"Why did you bring your cat?" Alexa got looks. Felix was a lovely kneazle and all, but really? He would probably be whiny by the end of the day, what with twigs and polish globs accumulating in his fur. But Alice wouldn't have to deal with the grumpy pet, so it wasn't her issue.
Cambridge needed instructions, though.
"Dip your rag in the tin and get a bit on it about the size of a Knut. Then start working it into the rag. Makes it warmer and, in turn, easier to apply to the broom. Should take a minute or two." Was Dora listening too? In case she didn't know how either. Alice wasn't sure how far her best's knowledge on brooms extended.
"Then rub it on the broom, don't rush, overlap all areas.. normal stuff. Wait five minutes for it to dry, and you'll know its done when you see a sort of hazy finish on the wood." Like hers looked like now. She demonstrated the last few steps on this broom, since it was ready and all.
"Use a clean towel to buff off the dried polish in tiny circular motions. And then keep repeating those steps until you can see your reflection in the handle, which should take at least two run-throughs of the steps."
Got it? Good. Alice got a Knut-sized glob of polish on her rag for the second time around.
