Caelen sighed and stepped into the common room, feeling drowsiness wash over her with each subsequent step. She had spent the last several hourse planet gazing, which had made her annoyed and tired. Luckily the assignment wasn't due yet because she only had a few done.

Finding an empty chair, the girl hopped into it and made herself comfortable, listening to the gossip and thinking about where she wanted to go and work on the homework tomorrow.

Her thoughts then drifted to her friend back home. Spencer and her would sneak out at night and build a tent out of blankets and bedsheet and play board games until they both crashed out on the grass. Luckily they were both small so someone could bring them in. Especially when it rained. She hated staying out there when it rained.

And also, she needed to win the chess game they were playing. The redhead had hesitated sending a letter until she knew the perfect place to put him in check. Because that needed to happen. She was winning this game. Even if it took all year.

Digging the papers out of her pocket, the firstie relaxed as she read the letters her family had sent and looked at the newspaper clippings from their Muggle town. Nothing interesting had happened. Then again, nothing interesting ever happened in her tiny town. It was soooo booooring that it made learning MATH fun. And that's not an easy thing to do.
