"Because that's what people do. You talk. You get to know one another. Its a skill most people acquire when they're babies." Simple enough? Terry didn't want to be mean to her, he hated not liking people. He was one of those sorts who got along with anyone and everyone.
He turned, pulled out a stool from around the table and wobbled it to test how secure it was. Seemed perfectly viable to him. "There" he stated matter of factly shoving the stool over towards her. She looked like she wanted to sit down and if her stomach was churning anywhere near as much as his was, she'd want to sit as far away from the food as it was possible. SERIOUSLY?
Olly stared at the Slytherin boy. Had he seriously just explained to her why people talked to each other? "Not when you don't think the other person is interesting enough to get to know." Then you didn't talk. She only talked to someone if she needed something from them, usually. Except for her friends obviously but that was a whole other story.
Stool. Sit. Yes, good idea. She took the stool from him without a word and dragged to the wall by the water cooler, as far away from the food as possible. There she sat down with a small sigh, glad to be able to give her legs a little rest. Life was exhausting, wasn't it? Yes.
Olly took a sip from her water, eyes lazily resting on the Slytherin boy. He was in her year, yeah? |
