But you don't get it till I can see your reaction and you have hair to braid right now." So she kept it safe on her lap. "Are you saying 'no need to be fancy' because it takes too much time and you're just trying to prove a point," she turned her head to the side so he could see her playful grin, "or 'cause you don't know how to be fancy with it?"
Mo settled and absently began to separate Sophie's hair into section, working his way into the braid that would swing down between her shoulder blades in a single plait. "Birthday present? You didn't have to do that, Bully Baby." But he wouldn't turn it down. At all.
Sophie did get a scowl at the suggestion that he wasn't good at braiding. Was this the thanks he got for his hard work and generosity? "I mean no need to be fancy because I don't want the other girls to get any funny ideas." But he did loose her braid and start at her temple, this time working on a coronet.

“Take your pick! mini-pizza-cupcake-thingies my mum made or butterbeer cupcakes with butterbeer inside of them!” She happily beamed. OH, food. Mo paused in his braiding and perused the options from Mika's container. Pizza cupcakes? What was this madness? He chose the butterbeer ones instead, shoving the entire thing in his mouth and grinning a sticky, crumby grin at her.
"S'good. Thags!"

Brynn was slightly in awe. A teenage boy, not only that but the Quidditch Captain, was entrusting her with his hair-braiding secret. If that wasn't proof that she was in with the in-crowd, she didn't know what was. But she shook her head to his next question. No, she didn't play.
"Coooool," Mo agreed, wiping crumbs from his chin before returning to Sophie's hair. "I had a feeling just from looking at you, Brynn, that you were the trustworthy sort. You stick with us, and we'll get you all settled."
Shame about the Quidditch, though. Mo was all for having fresh faces at tryouts so they could infuse the team with a renewed spirit. "Well, if you want to learn... just give me a nod. Sophie and I can teach you."

That had been over a year ago now, and though he certainly wasn't against it happening again, he didn't know it was public knowledge. The sixth year eyed the Captain curiously. How did he know about it? "Probably supposed to? Says who, exactly?" Because he'd spoken to the subject of that kiss on the train, and it'd all seemed fine and dandy to him.
Curious, curious indeed.
As for quidditch? Benjy grinned. "I was planning to. I mean, it'd be a waste of a new broom if I didn't, wouldn't it?" Plus, it might give Mo one more reason not to punch him on behalf of whoever wanted him to.
And that was when Benjy realised quite what Mo was doing with Sophie's hair. "Didn't know you were a hair expert," he said, eyes twinkling. "Could've told me last year, and stopped mine getting so mangled." CoughCough. Also, did they notice it was gone this year? The knotted, shaggy mess? Still fairly long, but back to being shiny again. Mhmm.
"You're safe from me," Mo shrugged. "My sister told me to keep an eye out for her, but I don't think that extends to who she is kissing. Or I hope not because I don't really want to be in charge of anyone's lips but my own." And even his own were just... Cat's now and not even for Mo to worry over.
Benjy earned himself a look when he commented on the braiding. A look, AND an acknowledgement that Mo approved of the haircut. He'd have the whole team shave themselves to be aerodynamic, but apparently that kind of fervor was unappreciated. "Not an expert. Girls like it, though, so... I recommend picking up the skill."

The redhead waltzed in finally, thanks to that STUPID puzzle at the door and looked around. Good, good, Claws, Claws... doing Claw things... homework and things...
She walked around the circumference of the room, admiring how ROUND it was. So circular! And so many windows! "Lovely view..." the Headmistress murmured to herself. Were those her greenhouses out there? Gorgeous! She smiled to herself and continued walking, heading toward a cluster of chairs near the fireplace.
The redhead stopped just behind one big, plushy navy one, and tsk'd to herself. "This won't do." She gave it a small push, then looked around to see if anyone was watching, and gave it a bigger nudge. Nudge. Nudgenudge. This place needed serious redecorating. One would think Calista would have feng shui'd her own House better!
And there was the Headmistress. Mo leaned against the top of Sophie's head as the woman paced the room and began shoving their furniture around. First the chair was greatly abused as she shoved it a few inches, and then she moved on to the ottoman.
Mo moved the chair back as soon as her back was turned, with a flick of his wand.
"Headmistress," Mo called across the room as he hurriedly put his wand away. "I'd be carefully kicking the furniture around in here. Someone keeps sticking things down with a semi-permanent Sticking Charm." Usually just someone's homework or a quill, but it wasn't beyond the ken that furniture was next.
