All right, Miss Firecracker... what was wrong with the dogs? Will calmly sipped his hot chocolate and waited to see what this girl... young woman thing... would do. "Aha, a handler." Well, her defensiveness made sense now. "So..." he cleared his throat, "they sort of are your dogs." He cracked a small smile at her (see? He was harmless! Friendly, even.) and took a step closer to peer at the dog she was lying on.

No that wasn't at all weird to him. They were creature people. Creature people understood creature people.

"I didn't do anything to them, I promise! I'm a dragons guy." He nodded and finished off the last of his warm cocoa. "I was just walking by and you know how they usually bark when someone goes by? But today they were QUIET. And it was WEIRD. And I was worried maybe another mutant had gotten in here, so I came in and boom! This is what I saw too."

See! They really WERE like this before he even got there. He gave her a PLEASE BELIEVE ME look now.
