Marigold ignored his hand and got to her feet. "But what's the fun in shoes?" she asked, rubbing her face where she had hit. Ouch. "And besides, my shoes were covered in goo." She didn't go on. She didn't want to.

Glare. "That's not nice." But she checked the mirror anyway. Nope, no face print. "And it's a lie."

She stepped closer to the mirror. "No, like the reflection. Unless the impact injured my brain, I'm pretty sure we don't have oil paintings here."
