Not so much because the kneazle was gone, but because his theory had been proved right - he couldn't leave her alone for FIVE SECONDS without something bad happening.
He was not looking forward to becoming a babysitter to his sister. Nope. Not at all.
UGH. She did NOT need to know that he'd gone to the loo. Boys. They could be so disgusting at times.
"I was just...," she said, hesitating as she slightly smirked, ...
lying to the prefects and captains while trying to get Cutty Mordaunt in trouble...
"roaming around. Seeing what the rest of the train was up to and all..."
She shook her head and shrugged innocently.
"Of course I wasn't trying to sell him. I told you that Mom wouldn't be happy if I did so," she replied.
Heh. Smirk.

Squint. And not that he normally bothered to make conversation with little kids but...
"You're related to Sierra Greingoth, right?"
Oops.
Uhhh...
"Nooo," Sophie said, dragging out the word. Oops again. Why couldn't she have asked that to some random new firstie or something? She was probably trying out for Quidditch this year, and making the captain think she was completely mad likely wasn't the best way to go about getting on the team.
She was just about to fumble around in an attempt to change the subject, when West went and did that all on his own. Why, thank you. And...he knew Sierra?! Sophie visibly brightened.
"She's my aunt," she said with pride.
"My mother's sister." Text Cut: Droo

Greeeeaaaat...
She was hoping to see the two boys that were on the train with her. So she looked around hoping to spot them.
That was when Sophie happened to turn her head in an attempt to keep up with the busy happenings at the house table...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
But this girl was supposed to be in GRYFFINDOR! Why fate, why?!
Before she realized what she was doing, Sophie had rose from her seat and began the walk in this girl's direction. This is the girl that so RUDELY denied the seat next to Sophie on the train. UGH. This both annoyed and challenged Sophie.
She plopped down in the empty seat next to the girl and just grinned.
"So we're in the same house," she said, in a why-does-fate-do-this-to-me look. Pause.
"I was trying to make nice with you at the station, you know." So CARE.

Sophie saw the girl size her up. What? Was she being judged based on her hairdo or something? Meh.
"Oh, ...Anna?" she asked, managing a smile on that note.
"That's my mom's name." As if, you know, the girl would actually care or something. It mattered to Sophie, though.
Sophie's gaze looked down to the girl's outstretched hand. She was offered a shake? Hmm. Okay, then. Sophie reached forward and shook the girl's hand.

"It was quite enjoyable, yes," she agreed amused and wanting to point out that the badge news came at the end of summer but then deciding against it.
"That's what my Aunt Sierra says," Sophie replied.
"That fun time flies by, I mean. I don't think she was ready to graduate Hogwarts, but I am. I hate homework." She said that as if doing homework was the single hardest thing she'd ever in her lifetime do.
She started to say something else, when...

Cassia suddenly grew very excited and starting waving some papers around. Ehh...paperwork? Please be something interesting... Sophie was totally not up for an assignment or a seminar right now. She took a paper and read through it. A party? Hmm. Okay.
She wasn't too happy about a new Head of House, though. She'd wanted her grandmother to stay. Who
was the new Head of House anyway?
