But, then...if Beverly was a thirteen, she'd have to have been in her third year, but this was her first time apart from her parents. Perhaps she'd been homeschooled up until this point.

"Yeah!" His response was enthusiastic. Cutty shoved away his chocolate frog back into his pocket and partook of the beans offering actively hoping to draw a bogey flavoured one.

"You just saved me sellable product!" He took a handful of beans and popped a toxic looking orange one into his mouth...alas, simple tangerine. "Come see me later, I can offer you a discount for that. Oh! I own and operate my own sweets selling business, by the way. You know, something for the student whose parents won't let them go to Hogsmeade or the older kids pulling all-nighters who've gone through their stock." He told her whilst taking himself totally seriously.

"So when you say your dad is over-protective, whadyya mean?" He had decided to ignore for the moment the unanswered question about money, for it might answer itself and she had already provided him with some information as to whether or not she might be a good client.

She watched him eat the jelly bean, secretly hoping he'd gotten one of the extreme flavours, like vomit or something. It'd be amusing. Not that'd she say it.

Popping another bean into her mouth she grinned a tiny bit to herself. "Pizza," she mumbled. Pizza was always great. Giving him a curious gaze, Bev took in what Cutty was saying. "So...you're like Hogwarts personal candy man?" Sure sounded like it, and it wasn't a bad thing. In fact, having a candy person this close to restock on sweets was a pretty darn good thing.

Oh, he was actually curious about that? Her over-protective dad. "Erm, well..." How does one explain years of living a sheltered life in a simple sentence? "I meant that he protects me from like, everything." Even dust bunnies, hence the really nice and charmed robes. "But he does it because he cares. I'm his youngest child." She shrugged.

It was reasonable. Grandmother protected uncle Xavier the most because he was the youngest (even if he was an old man). And uncle Xavier protected stupid Peyton because she was his youngest daughter. Reasonable.

The obvious reason tugged at the back of her mind, but she wasn't going there. Nope.

Though, Cassia now was curious about another thing. "What year are you?" she opted for not guessing out loud because surprisingly some took it personally when reckoned as younger or older.

Beverly nodded politely. Of course it was nice to meet her, she had manners and came from great family, not that Cassia would know, and not that Beverly wanted to go all out with that. It'd be odd if she just started to talk about her family out of nowhere to a person she didn't know.

Once again she wondered if she didn't look her age. Maybe this was some sort of small talk thing. "A third year." Silence. "... You?"

O for effort. Yay.

Pretty name, Bev thought. It was simple with a nice short name to go along with. Not that her name was ugly, it just wasn't as feminine.

And this girl was acting like a Slytherin. Somehow that made things better for the third year. Had she been behaving like a Hufflepuff...then they'd have a problem.

"Okay, Anna," she said. Then remembered to grin. Yeah, grinning was friendly. Merlin. "I'm Beverly Wayne...third year.... How about you?"

Double O for effort.

Fighting, Bev, fighting!
