Oh a Joke? was Emily joking? That was a joke, hahaha....good joke. "Sounds great, I'll get a move on." He needed to get his things over to a desk at the IUMO part of the office. "Thanks for your time Emily." He stood up from the chair, and reached into his shirt pocket placing his glasses back on his face. It felt weird not wearing them.

Saul wasn't exactly the most subtle person she had encountered, his reactions were quite clear cut to her, she could see the alarm in his eyes, feel it in the air, and even perhaps smell it on him. Facinating. His voice however, didn't do much to give him away, which only enhanced her curiosity. "Excellent, because even if you'd have wanted it, the answer would be no. I'm not interested in middle men, Saul, I like leaders... and I'd like to think I foster and perhaps even inspire leadership in others." So no, he could keep his promotion, he had earnt it, and it meant he could go and do the work he was capable of doing without her babysittingsupervision.

"Oh no," Emily mused, rising from her chair to see him out, she too needed to step out of the office again, "thank you." His glasses-off glasses-on routine amused her, she chalked this down to being nerves - which only served to amuse her more. In a few measured steps, Emily had circled her desk to meet him and extended her hand to shake. "Welcome back."

And then of course she gestured for the door. Out. Out out out. She wanted out.

SPOILER!!: Ellis

The QWC was a huge event after all and security was right up there on the necessities list with actual players and teams. And of course it sounded important, HE was important.

She looked excited and anxious about his question. A good sign. She was totally going to say yes and they'd get to spend the whole match and the lead-up and the after parties together. It was going to be so great, Ellis could just picture it.

.......

And then the whole thing went down in flames like a troll trying to ride a Cleansweep into a warehouse of self-starting fireworks. She had plans already. "Oh, yeah that's cool too." Please Merlin say it wasn't with another guy. Who was he kidding? Of course it was. Look at her she was a knock out and super smart too, Recard had just waited to late. He blew it.

He took a big bite of his sandwich and chewed as she spoke. Oh yeah, it was shame Emily, it truly was. But hey, five tickets not just two. And she made it sound like she would have gone with him. And a possibility of meeting up? He'd take that chance. "Oh well, yeah I can try and score you a few tickets." He said after swallowing his obnoxiously large bite of turkey. "I'll just have to keep my head up and maybe drag my eyes away from the plays to see if I see a certain department head then."

Not that he would mind doing this. The game may take a back seat at times if this was the case.

It is, it was, and it always would be. Security was just one of those things, and one of the many reasons why she loved her job. It was always in demand. "Excellent, I'll be waiting," she mused, taking another bite and chewing thoughtfully.

There was something about Ellis' expression that oozed confidence and something else... Emily watched, curious. But then, his expression didn't last. Rather it fell abruptly, which left her wondering, why? Had it been something she said? Was there food on her face?
Using the back of her hand, Emily wiped around her mouth before taking another bite. She was clear."Mmmm," she mummbled as she finished swallowing. It was cool, very cool, "I actually hadn't been to one before, so I'm rather looking forward to it." And this is where she expected his mouth to fall or something, with dramatics and looks of horror. She liked quidditch, yes, very much so - but the opportunity had never presented itself in the past, and she had been too focused on her studies and training to bother planning such things herself.

"If it's too much trouble..." she started, wondering if perhaps her request had been too outrageous. One or two tickets was something, five tickets, now that was a chore. But then he seemed accommodating enough, "thank you, it'd be greatly appreciated," such a good friend he was. Taking another sip of lemonade, Emily's looked between Ellis and her drink, then back to Ellis. All the while, having focused on not spilling it on herself, she'd only caught half of what he was saying. Head up? Away from plays? Certain Head? ...
"Oh I daresay there'll be a few of us," she replied, agreeing to what she'd pieced together in her head. "At least I know Gavin and I will be in attendance, Lourdes too I'm sure," she nodded before finishing her sandwich in one, and a half, generous bites.
