It seemed like that would be her only disadvantage here. She sighed in slight discontent at the fact that she would be just a small step behind until she became a step ahead.
"I've read a few books on it though. It sounds simply fascinating." Now she sounded like a book worm. Fantastic. So much for cool and collected. "You play though, right?" Why else would he ask her if she did? Everything had a reason.
Oh, she'd never flown before. That was like a triple dog dare to the soul of one Marcus Branxton, and his smile broadened considerably. "It is fascinating. It definitely is. Reading is an excellent start, but the real thing is better. If you ever want to take a few practice laps around the pitch and let me bore you on how to play the sport, let me know. I'm always looking to recruit new players." Because... the part he'd left out... "I'm the Ravenclaw captain. I play." For real.

Spotting Mo already seated down the way, Sophie hurried to beat anyone to one of the free spots next to him, kicked her leg over the bench, and plopped down onto the seat next to him as if declaring her territory proudly, arriving just in time to hear him chatting it up with a new first year! Cuuuute! She listened for a little bit before chiming in, "Welcome to the house, Hope. You're with the best of the best. The winners even when we don't win anything." Like last term. "I'm Sophie." Just so she could place a name to a face for the future and such.
Sophie was turning into a Mo shadow so far this term, which he did not mind at all, and Mo gave the girl yet another hair ruffle as she took a seat. He politely ignored her stomach growling, since his was growling as well. Food, yeah? They needed food.
"Hey, bully baby. Make sure you get Hope settled in her new dorm later, ok?" Sophie was a one woman welcoming committee.

"Hi Mo. I'm Caterina." She paused behind the boy and kissed his cheek. "Thanks for the welcome." Even though he had been obviously directing that to someone else, she was going to reply as well. She placed herself beside the boy and opened the package of cookies from home. "Cookie?" She took one for herself before offering to the handful of others who were around, including Mo and Sophie.
Girlfriend! Mo lit up at the dropped kiss, scooting over to let Cat sit next to him even if that meant he ran over Sophie a bit. "Hullo, Caterina. Don't sit too close to me. My girlfriend has a terrible temper." Not true, not true, but Mo enjoyed the look of knowing on Cat's face. She was in on the joke.
"You're feeding me? Give a cookie to Hope and Jun, ok? They can have some of my share."

"Long train rides do that to people. Don't think I can ever just survive on the snacks and whatnot," Jun couldn't. But maybe eating too much candy for meals was a bad thing too. Which is why his mum has made him cut down. But thankfully she can't do that while he's at school.

"I tried looking for the trolley, but I swear the lady was hiding from me this year," Mo made pathetic faces about his inability to buy a snack on the train. He would gladly stand in line, but he'd never managed to find the line. He needed all the free Cat-cookies he could get.
"Nice to meet you, though, Jun. Have a cookie... Cat is the best baker at Hogwarts. She's going to be a professional chef one day, and then we can all eat for free at her famous restaurant." This was a real thing in his brain. "Do you play Quidditch?" Y'know... for reasons.

Lily greeted two of her teammates from the past term's quidditch team.
Seeing some new faces, the redhead gave a smile. "Welcome to Ravenclaw! Or welcome back if you've been here before. I'm Lily, seventh year." Where was everybody?? Was she really that early?
Lily! Mo already missed Taylor's presence, and they hadn't even held tryouts yet, and now he was going to be losing another player. He'd have to make the most of her this term. "Hey, Lil. How was your summer?" She was smiling, so that seemed like a very good sign.
