Well, Hayley knew the train was old. He didn't have to be as obvious as she was, did he? He probably did. She probably looked confused, but she was confused so looking that way was totally acceptable. Old train. Rickety. Got it.
Hayley nodded. She got that much.
"Right," she said, not quite daring to put Marshmallow down just yet.
"I'll just go. Thank you, mister!" AND SHE WAS OFF. No more scary tall!person who probably thought she was a bit slow on the uptake.
